Good you read that thread and aware going into it. Small companies are good if you latch onto one, more flexibility when unexpected situations arise and all the good things you mentioned. I read how you had to change companies not by choice so I can relate. Good things happen to good folk. If I could find one after I buy this truck then lucky me. Perhaps a nice change from working for behemoths all my life.
Meanwhile keep us posted occasionally on how the 'other half' does it.

    Be well...

Central OTRM (for the most part) = dumb butts who couldn't find their rear with a map.

    Hi all,
my Husband is going to start driving for Central soon and I have a few questions about the Company for drivers that drive for them.
First off,we live in WA State, how much is the Home Time for you guys? Does anyone live in WA State and if so,how often do you get a chance to go home ? (Meaning how often do your trips bring you home?).
Also , what is the ACTUAL income a Central Company Driver makes ?
Hubby is hell bound on trucking again (used to drive for Schneider National and Knight Ref few years ago) and if it was up to him he would drive on with no end.I would like to have him home like every two to three weeks (guess thats about the max I can ask for with being an OTR Truck Driver....) for a weekend.
The only reason he quit Trucking a few years ago was because he got a job offer (Aviation ) that he couldn't turn down.
If anyone has any info at all about Central please let me know as I really am trying to find out as much as possible.
Especially about the Home Time when ya live in WA State (gotta calm my nerves somehow I guess).
Thanks ya all and keep it safe out there

I know there are loads that come and go out of WA - so that is a good thing... unless you have commitments at that house (kids, animals) you can always go with him, then you don't have to worry about when he can make it back to WA :biggrin_25525:

I live in SW WA and got home ok. I will say this, the BEST Central did on hometime was one day late. That said, JohnE was my DM and may have been the cause of that situation. Did my time and moved on to greener pastures. How long ago was his experience and how much time on the road? If it is recent/extensive enough there might be better options. BOL

I wondered if you were still on the road, I hadn't seen you post in a while. I'm sorry you had to get off the road, I hope stuff at home clears up.

The problem with Central, is if you tell them in advance you're quitting, and you go by the house, they tend to assume the worst. So, they'll retrieve their truck if you go home, in case you decide you're going to trash it. That's why when we quit, we're going to swing by a terminal, and tell them then.

Have you checked your DAC? Make sure they didn't put anything on it that wasn't true.
