My husband after 30 years driving a big rig finally gave it up, with the way the rules and restrictions are getting and he prefered being home as he got older anyway. But the problem is stupid recruiters won't leave us alone. Like JB Hunt, Melton trucklines keep calling even tho we have told them in no uncertain terms to get lost and don't call ever again, short of changeing phone number that I have had for over 20 years I was wandering is there someone I can get or a list to be put on to stop harrassing phone calls? It is getting really annoying. Trying to be somewhat nice but not much longer (LOL).
Is there such a thing as a do not call list for stupid recruters?

I would create a form letter, leaving the trucking company blank, then fill it in with a pen... send these letters to the director of recruiting of each company that is calling you. Might work...
I still get emails and cards from CR England, despite netting 18 cpm (for both me and my wife) while with them, and they kept my entire $5500 maintenance account... and they think I want to talk to them?? -
filling out forms online create this problem,
as does calling toll-free numbers.
you can't block out their number ?
there are also answering machines and downloadable programs to block unwanted calls.
Nowadays, changing your number, often gets you even more unwanted calls !! -
Good luck with that, ask them to take you off of their lists. Probably wont work but it's worth a shot.

What I would do honestly would be go above the recruiters head. 9 times out of 10 the companies website will list certain higher ups phone numbers or at the very least their name. Try calling them at their home at random hours and complain. They should very soon put their foot down on the recruiter.

OK, so Hubby WAS a driver that quit. And now, recruiters are calling him. So how are these recruiters privvy to the fact that he quit trucking ? He must have put in apps, right ?

A guy I know just started telling them that he just got this phone number and is tired of getting calls for the guy(him) who had the same number before. It seemed to work since they have no reason to call a random person up to try and get them to work there.

you must fill out the form completely. i think that in 6 months (?) you will have to re-register.
be very specific about the times, dates, and phone numbers. if you happen to have caller ID this will be a BIG help to you, as you will see the numbers that they are calling from.
also, it DOES take time for this to start working, so be VIGILANT in reporting these people.....
by the way, this "do not call registry" works for ANY call you get (regarding sales, advertising, not just the trucking companies.... -
Sounds like reason #1,207 to never give your home or cell phone number to anyone you wouldn't mind showing up at your door at 3 am.
Get a Google Voice virtual phone number, give it out liberally, and have the GV number ring your cell phone or home phone. If someone that only has your GV number begins to irritate, set them to receive the "this number is out of service" or their call goes direct to voice mail.
Google Voice is free. Change your phone number and sign up for the Do Not Call list. But mostly don't give out the number you use most.
I routinely claim I have no phone, even if I'm holding a phone in my hand. "Oh that's a friend's phone." Or I tell some my number is a fake number, like a jumble of an old phone number. This aint Mayberry any more you have to outsmart people if you want peace and quiet, or plenty of acreage, a barren perimeter, and good aim.
