Everything depreciates, a brand new automobile loses 30% of its value when you put plates on it.

Ii is commonly known that lottery winners whom kick back and dont invest or go back to work will be bankrupt with in a year of when the money ends.

it's "commonly known" that it takes a LOT of money, to make a LITTLE bit of money, and in trucking, one will never justify the end results of the money blown off.

and besides, one has a better chance of selling a used car or pick up truck, or motorcycle or mini-van, FASTER than one can sell off a used big rig...

and the cash out lay for a car is of course much lower than that of a big rig, allowing one to purchase a new home and perhaps even a "vacation home".....

money in the bank earning interest will always give a better return than a big rig sucking the money out of a savings account.

hey, you do what you want, but for me....peace and quiet, no DOT, no rules, regulations, no activist groups, no politicians, no added taxes, no paper work, no schedules to keep.....no dispatchers or brokers to deal with, no idiot blocking the fuel island to deal with, no dirty showers, no parking allowed, no parking available, no weather, and probably most important, no moronic newbies to deal with.........

    that's what i'm talking about...

i can live on the interest alone...."the interest of a cleaner, safer, quieter, peaceful life" away from trucking.....

you still got lots to learn......

and by the way, your 30% depreciation is wrong.....

a car cannot lose 30% driving off the lot, when the full year hasn't come yet..unless you buy junk brands......

    and here is another..

My ideal truck runs, is reliable, doesn't get me put out of service, isn't overly complicated to maintain, and does what I expect it to. The rest is just aesthetics. The old White-GMC WIA64T I used to run a 40 ft. frameless end dump with was probably a piece of #### by the standards of those who salivate over polished rigs with copious amounts of chrome and lights. But, it was paid for, it was reliable, and it made me money.
