passed whisper test but she said i have to do a hearing exam?

congrats! so the lower the # the better?

 

I'm totally deaf in one ear and still qualify for the medical even with the "tones" audio test. The regulations only state hearing in the better ear so if you can pass in one you're alright. I've had to pull out the book on a couple doctors trying to deny me before though.

I have tinnitus (ringing) in my left ear bad and it is LOUD. I couldn't hear the tones very well at all in my good ear and even worse in my left. I did poorly on the hearing exam but still passed. Did just fine on the whisper test. Don't fret about taking the exam and I'm sure you'll do fine enough to pass if I did

 

iv got sensory neural (sp?) hearing loss last time i took a hearing test a few years ago for other reasons i was told i failed my hearing test i thought she said i failed my urin test and started freaking out on her cause i knew that was wrong, as i don't do any drugs at all. going in for my dot physical in an hour crossing my fingers i think i will be fine though. cleaning my ears for the 3rd time this morning to make sure i can hear the best that i possibly can.

also the last physical i took with a hearing test was in a mobile setup with a generator running and with my type of hearing loss any back ground noise really mumbles things up in a quiet setting i do a lot better

 

i passed my hearing test and got my medical card
