It is not a company specific thing. I wish I could give you my password and company code to get into the website. They charge for the access.

It is not Eagle training it is a website called protreads. com. Kind of like the Swift kiosk stuff but better.

You miss read what I typed. Sleeper time is off duty.

Negative. If the company relieves you of responsibility for the load and equipment, you log off duty.

It's company-specific. Otherwise, haz-mat would only move on solo trucks. We all know that's not going to happen.

Error in my post....you did address the Line 2 issue....but tell me...what would the difference be as far as security, following the FMCSA guidelines between logging Line 1 and keeping the trailer visible and being Line 2....you can't "see" the trailer with your eyes closed sleeping....so anybody trying to "mess with the hazmat cargo" can just wait till your asleep!

See what I am saying? Having trouble phrasing my thoughts...only started on cup #2 of my daily 36 cup mandatory ingestion per day!:biggrin_25525:

Of course all you Hazmat certified drivers don't smoke in the cab when running down the road? That is the law.

Injun call the log "Nazi" in Memphis and run that by him and see what Ron Presley says.

Trust me if my company could keep us rolling 7 days a week they would!

You need to show me that "LAW"....another "company specific" rule about smoking or not smoking in the cab.....fuel and other combustibles state no smoking with "X" number of feet from the trailer.....from outside distances.....they relaxed that portion of the rules.

Be careful about confusing company specific rules and FMCSA guideline regulations. Many of these companies like to try and "pass off" the "driver won't like that" rule over to another agency.

If you are hauling any hazmat what is the distance you are required to be from the trailer?

    25ft.

How far away are you from the load when you are in the driver's seat?

I will check this stuff and get back with you. The smoking thing came from a Landstar driver.

Its easy to find out who pulled what trailer. The problem is some drivers, not all, I know, but some, are half-arsing it, dropping the trailer without post-tripping it, and they are not held accountable.

The sad part it, I dont see it ever happening where drivers will be held accountable for dropping trailers that need to be repaired, or have a hole in the floor, or the roof missing, etc.
