We are winding down. Most all the harvesters have left and ADM is open this weekend from 8 to 8 not for sure what next week will bring. Just my luck my truck wants to give me trouble when we get busy making some money, been in the shop all day and should be going in the morning. Our harvest turned out better then expected. We hauled a few loads out of big farming operation that has no trucks of their own, we hauled out of their bins yesterday evening because they were full and thought they were done but some farmers called them looking for a place to take their wheat because the small local elevators were full and not taking anymore. So they took the farmers wheat and we hauled their's into ADM.

How's the yeilds, wheathauler? Is the quality purty good on the wheat you've been hauling. Farmer i'm gona haul wheat for said his test weights are not looking too promising,54-56lbs. I'm guessing it's running light due to all our early rain/cloudy weather, maybe.I think i'll be hauling for him by the end of next week. Hope you got your flex-pipe fixed without having a dang heat stroke,it's been bad hot here,95-97 for the last couple of days with high humidity:biggrin_25524:. Stay hydrated, and don't spend all that harvest-cash your making in one place:biggrin_255::biggrin_2559:

Just got off the phone with the guy I haul for and he was telling me some of the small elevators north of me 50 miles or so are getting close to being full and need wheat moved, said they still have a lot of wheat to cut in that area. So it is off to the races again when he finishes my truck in the morning.

WH, is there a lot of trucks in your area yet? I have seen a few trucks from Kansas down here and one lone ranger from Louisiana that has been steady working this week. Mostly of the Kansas trucks hauling here this week are ones I see usually on a weekly basis like LB White, Sun Valley and Jadasna.

Wheats been really good for quality, not sure what yields have been. 61 or so weight and over 12 on protein. I was lazy had someone else put on flex pipe, sure made a difference in the noise.

Quite a few trucks but not as many as last year. Some from northern kansas and south dakota. Strange thing some farmers were still running pivots on the irrigated wheat. The irrigated wheat will be later for sure.

Off to buy my new (used) hopper. 2001 Wilson Commander only needs brakes for $20k. Three with similar specs but needing more work have sold for $22K+ around here. These things do hold their value.

Two years ago was a nightmare. Some elevators compensated for wait times and others just let drivers suffer. I know one that had a hard time getting drivers last year because how they treated driver the previous year.

What part of "W. Central" IL are you from? I'm near Champaign.

Good luck with your new trailer, if its had reasonable care it should do a good job for you. Yeah, two years ago was crazy. Some of it was unavoidable considering the situation, some of it was due to lack of planning and flexibility. We actually did ok because harvest stretched out for so long, instead of being over in 6 weeks.

I live over in Rushville, about in the center of Forgottonia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forgottonia

So much for that hopper. Tarps shot, looked like one if not two air bags needed replaced, standing water is hoppers and got one trap door opened half way and the other wouldn't budge. Believe it or not it looks like the best deal around here is going to be heading to Wilson up north. Arrgh.

RW, you are almost directly west of me. I'm in Gibson.

Two years ago worked well for me as I was hourly. Not that I am one of those sit around on someone elses dime types but if I was paid by the bushel sitting in line for hours would have stressed me just a bit.
