Big area,
where abouts ? -
We are relocating to treasure Island, FL which is right outside of St. Petersburg.

Why not just take the Test in MA through NETTS at least you can use there truck and if you need help on some maneuvers they can help you with them before you go to your road test.

I am moving down on the 8th and I will only have one chance to pass the test so If i dont pass then I will have to take it in FL. So i will do my best but not too many people pass the test on the first time.

Passing the test in FL is a lot easier than finding a trucking job in FL.
..or finding a place to park the rig in FL, especially in the St. Pete area.dino6960 Thanks this. -
Would you mind my asking why you're moving to FL? I've lived here all my life, and in no ways am I downtalking my state, but it is a tough economy here right now, and finding a reputable trucking job, as a student nonetheless, is going to be hard. The weather is great, the people are nice, and with a little bit of patience a good job can be had, but believe me when I say, and others as well, it is probably going to take a while.

You will have a hard time finding a company to take you as a newbie and there not to many jobs in Florida. If I was you,I wouldn't move.

I am from Florida (Orlando area, and Palm Beach area) and I definitely agree with Bigarmin88. The economy sucks down there. I hate to say it because it sounds racist and whatnot but foreigners definitely have the advantage with jobs like this. I am a certified tech with a degree and actual work experience and couldnt find work in a truck shop... They like the guys who will push hard labor for cheaper costs and the drivers who will drive whatever they are given and do the job they are told to do.
But, if you do get your CDL in MA it should transfer to Florida. Its if you decide to move out of the state you will probably have to retake a test. I had to when I moved to Ohio. They made me do it all over again.
Best of luck to you. I hope it works out, seriously. -
But those that do... don't have that attitude. It is a nerve wracking time. Your career rests on the outcome! Being confident is key. Believe you can do it and you will do much better. Pretend that examiner is the worst person you have ever seen drive and you are showing him how to do it.
But forget about that... and look forward to local Florida resident prices on a yearly pass to Disney World! I'm jealous!
