Trexler Plaza,Allentown ,Pa

I'm currently setting at this truckstop and they do have a CATS scale now.

 

I live about 8 miles away, but I do appreciate them being there. the only complaint I have heard is the parking spaces are very narrow, setting the stage for swapping mirrors. I have notified Rand McNally several times to put them in the data base but so far they have ignored the input. So now I ignore Rand McNally.

I just passed through there last night. There is a CAT Scale on the lot there now.

 

cat scale, narrow parking spots, easy to not clear the mirror beside you... deli food, which runs out fast.. Nice to have a place to park and scale with americold, kraft, and orefield cold storage all right around the corner.

 

I haven't seen this place yet but it surprised me that it was there. Gonna have to check it out sometime. Glad there are alternatives to the Big 2 out there.

BTW there's a scale off Exit 3 in NJ at a little tiny place that seems on the verge of going under.

Also there's plenty of parking in this part of the coutry if you know where to look.

(of course I'm a local, so I don't really NEED it. but I can't go giving out addy's in case a place gets swamped or some supertrucker ruins it for every one)

Let's just say about 20 minutes off 78 in Allentown there are a couple of shuttered old car dealerships that nobody bothered to fence off. And if you quietly pull behind the service department (nothing but cornfield on the other side) if you keep your lights off and don't idle nobody's going to know you're there.

 

There's alot of parking in eastern PA/NJ if you know where to look

Still have my list but don't need it right now since I drive a daycab and get a hotel but you never know

 

That part of the world needs more truck parking! I'm going to make a note about it!

yes there is now a new CAT scale there and the place is 20X Better then ever all cleaned up and they even closed that dirty book store that was across the street. Whole new building and owners very clean. You can take your mom there its clean. Hope this helps,

Sence they rebuilt Trexler has a decent TS there now. They dont have a restruant but they do cook some food and have limited choices of what you get but what they have is good. I have not ever seen any lizzards there sence they have reopened, but thats not to say there arnt any i'm just saying i've not seen any in they're new place. Also they have very modern showers that are very clean.
