What do you expect from these sign markers? These are the people that park in their driveway and drive on their parkway.

i once saw a sign on a bridge that said something along the lines of "ice may be present on bridge when below freezing" or something of that nature

Regarding the "low flying aircraft" sign...It's not a silly warning. It's just there so that if you get buzzed by a 737 on final, or by a crop duster coming in to land, you're not completely surprised by it.

Granted, if you didn't read the sign, you might still be completely surprised by it.

I had a moment one day, a crop duster came over me as I was rolling down the freeway. He cleared me by maybe 20 or 30 feet, and he came right over the top of the cab (just good timing, really). The noise and the shadow and the abruptness of it were enough to make me jump and give me an adrenaline shot that made me jittery for a half hour afterward. If there was a sign that day, I didn't see it. Now the signs are just a little heads up I'm thankful for.

i think the signs are also there to prevent people calling in the "airplane that looks like its going to crash"

    "Lights on when wipers required"

Gawd, how I wish people understood what this meant and LEO's would enforce the law. Especially those silver/gray vehicles who blend in with the rain/spray and travel 10-15 MPH over the speed limit in a rainstorm.

US 50 east of Pueblo Colorado. Back in 2001 or 2002 there was a pretty good curve in the road. However the warning sign that the rocket scientist from the highway department put up, warned of the road curving in the opposite direction.

That sign was up for several months. I know I reported it to both the highway department and the state patrol. I'll always wonder if it took a crash on the corner to get that sign replaced.
