Stoped in Needles,Ca last night, A/C at dash decided it would not work, to hot for it, truck gauge said 125, the temp gauge at the shell said 115. All i know is that it was hot. thank god the sleeper A/C worked. Shop said that there is a resister that goes out when hot, well there right. trying to get a load back to Denver, stoot up to Greeley to get fixed. at least there i can go home real quick while it is being fixed.

By the way, if you stop in Needles, Ca. the parking behind the Shell station is a NO IDLE. they enforce it. For noise,

Next time someone says you can't make miles and money on e-logs, I will be quoting this post.

    Jarhead,
You can make money and you can get plenty of miles, when I left Ofallon Il late last night I stopped in Salina KS to get coffee and use the facilities, was there for all of 10 minutes, I keep the door closed, and I plan my routes very different than most. I do extensive trip planning, I can tell you where I am going to take my 10 hour breaks how many miles I will run each day, and I rarely miss my mark on where I stop, I roll 670-690 constantly every 11 hours. What I do is easy to teach someone so easy in fact that I authored a 43 page PDA work guide for new and old drivers alike. I sent into the office and I am waiting to hear from them about it, I did not pull any strings and I even edited it as to not offend truck stop jumpers.

Oh, I'm with ya! When I decided that I was no longer going to run illegally (and dangerous, and sleepy, and groggy, and hungry, and feeling like death would be better and getting to lay in the bunk was but a dream), it took me no more than a few weeks to learn to get very efficient. I still managed over 3k miles (when they were available) running legally with paper logs. Got tired of looking over my shoulder and being paranoid about DOT, so I put my foot down.

I like that term: "Truck Stop Jumpers". :biggrin_2559:

Hey Harley, still in that great motel?????

Dropped in La Porte at Versacold. Didn't remember the place until I got there and realized I had been there before with my trainer. Sat there for some time and nobody came out with the paperwork. Went inside and sure enough it was ready. That's one thing my trainer told me. Go in if it's been awhile since the load is out of the box. Dem suckers will let you sit FOREVER. Headed to Ft. Worth for another pallet load to Cactus. Half way there got a call from my DM to relay a load down to this little podunk town in between San Antone and Houston. No problem, yet. Well the other driver was about 2 hours late. Not his fault though, he did all he could do. Picked up his load and he took mine and the drop time was changed to their last slot a couple hours later. No prob, still just enough time until... Traffic bad in Ft.W. (as usual) Ok slowed me down but still can make it. And then there was Austin. Come on! 2 in the afternoon and backed up ALL through town both sides and no wrecks? Well, ended up about 25 minutes later than they said they would accept delivery. They must have needed that load pretty bad because there was no problem unloading in RECORD time of 15 minutes from backing to getting my papers. So I get out of there with not much time left heading back to Ft..W for a load to WY. Just enough time to get through Austin again. Mmmm...Austin in rush hour OMG!! Don't think so. Got to park it but man there is nowhere on this backroad I am on before hitting the highway right in Austin. Someone was looking out for me and a truckstop appeared out of nowhere with a huge paved lot and not many trucks. Another day done...
