See now here is where my opinion can differ from most. Sure if I'm interviewing for a cubicle job or car salesman I will be dressed to the t. If I'm interviewing for a truck driving job I will wear what I would wear on the job.Pocket tee or some such shirt, cargo pants (all those pockets come in handy), I don't even own a pair of sneakers, steel toe work boots for me every day. If after interviewing me a company doesn't want to hire me because I have my lip pierced, head shaved, long goatee, and a few tattoos...well it's their loss because under all this is a very intelligent ex business owner with, chances are, more drive and stamina than the person interviewing me.

I did a lot of hiring at my old business (cemeteries and monument co) and I would get a guy show up in dockers, loafers, and a button up shirt. I would ask him just what job he was interviewing for because around here we dig holes, mix and pour cement, routinely move 300lb+ hunks of granite, and mow and trim grass. Come to me dressed like you are ready to work, not go out on a date.

But that's just me. My pops had a suit and tie job, I could never handle that.

EDIT: Though I will say if you show up looking like a dirtball stinking like you haven't bathed and can't complete a full sentence without sounding like a trailer park boy (canadian tv show reference) I'm going to show you the door.

IDK if there's a woman behind the question BUT, ladies, do NOT dress like you're going to a night club or trying to impress with your body - You are applying for a professional truck driver job, dress as such.
I have seen this and it does not make an employer believe you can do the job without assistance from every male trucker around you on everything you do. And if you can't, please find another job as you give the rest of us a bad name....:biggrin_25513:
They may ask for a date but certainly won't believe you can handle a big rig safely. :biggrin_2559:
Dress in nice, clean, not revealing work clothes. Clean, sturdy work shoes or boots, NO high heels and not much, if any, jewelry. Don't over-do it on the makeup if you use it when working.
Pretty much the same advice as for the men on the rest - no T-shirts and nice jeans or slacks and shirts (blouses). Tuck your shirt-tail in, etc., etc.

Also ~ Good luck to the OP - you will do just fine!

this is a very simple answer. be clean, wear a good looking pair of jeans and a button up shirt with some nice boots. i myself even like doing hard work in a button up shirt and some jeans and still look very presentable but they are not my main jeans and button ups in my wardrobe.. you got your work clothes.. and you got your casual clothes.. both can be nice, and you can constantly be on your grind while looking extra fresh. = D. oh yeah and be WRINKLE FREE and buy a lint roller.

Now that's funny; not sure make-up would make any difference - but if she could at least climb up in the truck she just might get the job 'cause you know how some of you guys love them big 'uns - especially on a little fat girl!:icon_porc:
