Things are looking up around here, NOW !!!
Soon as a certain somebody gets off vacation, it'll get even better !!!!lv gn Thanks this. -
Here I sit again. Another week very little miles. Can't hold out much longer. 255 mile weekend run. $80. for 2 1/2 days. Great load planning here at Indian River transport. Just enough to avoid paying any layover pay.
Someone stated there are drivers at IRT over 20 years. well there are 5. Four are between the ages of 66-72 and wish they could make a move. The other keeps looking but hopes things will improve. There are 22 with 10 years and some of them have quit and come back and have been given their previous time back. We think things will improve and hope they will but it doesn't look like it.
The office slogan seems to be " This would be a great place to work if it wasn't for those dang truck drivers!" They have forgotten on who's backs this company was founded.Drivers are a "dime a dozen" and now we have "dime a dozen drivers" In the past 3 years we've gone from first to worst.A friend of mine has been asking to get home for over a month now and they still haven't got him home, going on 3 months out. With the new hold them out policy, It's going to get worse. But hey I just got a brand new Pete to sit in a few weeks ago.

I ran into a IRT driver in Winter Haven, Fl at Velda Farm and he told me that he stayed out 4 months and when he finally got home and tried to take a few days off, he caught the devil. Ain't no way that I would work under condition such as these.

Glad I found something else when I was approved at IRT!!! 3 weeks minimum is enough for most people... 3 months??? My wife and dog wouldn't recognize me! No wonder I read all the negatives here... Good luck to those there!

I just applyed to New century... Enough is enough. Maybe my dog and wife will get to know me again
