wow = what a bunch of great people. such a pleasure ti be in your company...

i may be mistaken. it would seem that truckers deserve the way they are treated, after all :)

But, YOU are the one who abandoned company equipment. YOU are the one who CHOSE to knowingly use faulty equipment. Make no bones about it, if my equipment is not up to DOT standards...I GET IT REPAIRED before I pull another load. All you could do was bicker and moan about hauling 42,000 lbs when you knew you had bad brakes. That, sir, tells me you are either ignorant or a primadonna, I can't tell.

i worked for McLeod for 3 years and while my decision to leave was different, yes McLeod has thier bad points, but to leave a truck at a shipper and go home, thats just plain stupid,i know for a fact this company will burn every bridge you shall ever walk on for doing that. but from your posts i think you should reconsider a quick career change, abandoning a truck is a serious thing.i doubt any worthwhile company will even consider you now, sorry bout your bad luck with them

Seems to me that the OP has anger and rage issues. He also proves that Mama Gump is right, STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.

i just might have "anger and rage issues." if i did not, before, i do now!

    i find this... unbelievable.

i picked up a trailer with bad brakes, and NO, i do not crawl beneath trailers so i can see deep inside brake drums. maybe those of you that do might think about it... how long has it been since another driver hid and "cooled off a brake" where you are crawling? stupid. typical, but stupid.

mcleod responded, not by arranging to get it fixed, but by doing their level best to force me to continue to use it, as it was. they even lied about the weight of some freight, with the explicit purpose of conning me into moving it.

by the time they offered to fix it i was thoroughly enraged - that's true. 'way too much to work for free taking their junk to a shop and waiting on it! oh yeah, and i've done that before, too. they're SUPPOSED to pay you, but somehow the money never gets on a check...

now, it seems, i am the bad guy. well, i stand by my actions and i certainly will do the same thing again, should i be so fortunate as to experience the same circumstances.

could it be that, instead of me having "anger and rage issues," YOU have self-worth issues? it seems to me you enjoy being used as toilet paper and can not imagine anyone, who does not!

Oh, my GAWD!!! THAT'S just SSOOOO much work! The very nerve of a company sending you to a shop, where you park the trailer inside the shop and then go get some lunch! The HORROR of it!

Find a different career. This is obviously not for you.

What is so unbelievable, Mr. "Old School"? Are you telling us you've never learned how to do a proper PTI of your equipment before you ever move it?

Getting your substandard equipment fixed is part of your job. If you can't deal with it, another line of work is called for.

If your employer has problems coming thru on pay that is due you, you have legitimate cause for concern. But you are not justified in abandoning their equipment over it. Once you are empty, head to the yard and talk it out. If you can't come to a meeting of the minds then THAT is the time to leave.

I can't believe I even have to tell an adult things like this. Never mind an "Old School Trucker".
