I ate at one last week. Couldn't believe how expensive it was. $14 before a tip for a burger and fries.

    ronin Thanks this.

If I'm going to pay money like that for a burger, I'll go to Red Robin. At least you get what they generously call a "gourmet burger" there. And all you can eat fries. . .

    ronin Thanks this.

Sure, had a Denny's double bacon cheeseburger Friday night in Edinburg, but like the guy above stated, it was $14... meal, tea and tip. Sheesh.

I love Red Robin, but they don't have a store in Edinburg, or showers.

I havent been to a Denny's in years and have been off the raod for a while. I got back out about a month and a half ago. This past Friday on my way home after a super tough long day I stopped at the J in Jeffersonville Ohio for a well earned shower and decided to go try out the Denny's. While the food was Ok but not near great, the service was TERRIBLE! Took a few minutes to get anyone to pay attention to me to get seated. Got a seat and menu then no one ever came back. Finally a manager came over to see if my drink order had been taken. I said no and told him what I wanetd as well as my food order since i had had plenty of time to decide. Got my food reasonably quick but i never saw a server again before I was done with my entire larger meal. No drink refill, no questions about how things were, just nothing. Got done and sat there forever before anyone came to check on me,when tyhey did I said i would like my check. 5 minutes go by and nothing. Another girl came by and asked me if i needed anything i said i needed my check. 5 minutes. She comes back and says she cant find it and had to find the manager that took my order. Another 5 or 10 minutes and she finally finds him and then he goes to get it and a line forms at the register and I wait another 2 or 3 minutes. Finally get it,pay and get out. The food definitely wasnt good enough to put up with the service. Will probably be a while before i go back if I ever do. Say what you want about The old Flying J buffet but whenever i went in I was always quickly seated, always had a drink in front of me within a minute or 2 and was always checked on 2 or 3 times and with the buffet i never had to wait for food unless I ordered off the menu and i very much miss having a salad bar option. Only having the option of Denny's and Pilot completely sucking the personality out of the store area has really bumped my opinion of Flying J's down quite a few levels.

The only pilot that i realy use is the one in Dalton, Ga. That's only because it's close to my terminal. I do like the Arby's there and I love their fries and sandwiches. I also like the coffee.

The other thing I like abut that Pilot is that there's a couple really cute girls that work there.

Dennys is absolutely the perfect place to eat dinner breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Bland taste, slow service, long lines, rude staff at times. They actually hold the same weight as getting takeout food from your local driving facility. Why do people think so many old people are always in there. See above note for the reason. Until truckstops actually contract with food services required to cook "real food", i'm boycotting all of them as much as possible. Again my 2 cents!

The only thing I can stomach there is the Superbird...but that really depends on which Denny's you go to. Some of them have complete imbeciles working the kitchen. I mean, it's not exactly a complicated sandwich to make, yet 40% or so of the Denny's that I've been to manage to screw it up.

    Lol only 7 french fries....

I really like their BBQ chicken skillet.
I also tried the ice cream sundae with bacon on top and I must say....not a fan of it.
