Hmm. I read all this. Their lease op is through Quality Leasing which is owned by the guy that started Celadon. I called Quality and the guy said lease was 400/wk for 180 weeks. Thats 70k for a used truck if you make it to end of lease. I called Panther and recruiter seemed Perturbed that I had called Quality to find out what the lease was about. If I am a business owner, then it makes sense to know what I would be getting into BEFORE I got into it.
Are there anyone solo there that are actually doing ok? I see a lot of negative here. I was in INDY and this guy that is leasing a truck was trying to get me to go team for two weeks to "learn " expediting. He offered to pay me a grand a week for two weeks--but he got perturbed when I asked him what's in it for you. So, I did the math and I see his angle. He said as a solo you don't want or need more than 2000 miles per week..Ahem..if it's my business, wouldn't how much I need be my business?
This guy had a truck and it was making a loud thump going down the road and asked me if a truck should be making that noise. LOL. He said he had 20 years driving a truck...and he didn't know that he probably has a bushing or some other mechanical issue....which makes me think he hasn't even looked for it on a pre-trip.

Well looks like i'm heading to Panther,I know its not the best but I have to start somewhere. My idea to stay on for at lease a year possible maybe buying my own truck but will see about that.I guest if I can suck it up for at lease 6 months, more doors may open for me,I could kick my self in the rear end cuz when I got my CDL in 07 I could have 4 years experience by today but I bought a small business and didn't go on the road.My goals are to get in a 18 wheeler but for now I only can do straight truck.Well we will see what happens next, ill keep a update.

Well still sitting at home, been approved already by Panther for 2 weeks now but i'm having few issues.I was in talks with an owner and he had me go on searching for a teammate, well after 2 weeks searching I still can't find someone!
.Any how I have another issue,I come to now learn that the owner wanted me to pay fuel and tolls,ok BUT this is how he set it up,45% for 3,000 miles or less or 55% for 3,000 + miles. So after doing little homework and chatting on the expedite forums,I was told this was a rip off!So way it should work if I pay fuel,I get 60% plus fsc.So that what stand now,I hope I can find a truck soon...

##### Driver.
Good Luck,
and keep us postd. -
I use to work for an o/o at panther and me as a driver (when I got with the right owner) Made about $1800 to $2300 a week and no you dont run alot of miles but you are required to stay out aleast 3 weeks and run as a team. The more you can offer example twic card, hazmat, passport the more you can make and every load can be neg. but average load for semi b4 fuel surcharge is 1.35 a mile

Well I found a teammate but he still waiting to be approved by Panther.I talk to the recruiter at Panther and there a good chance he may be able to find a truck for us,since most o/o prefer teams rather than solo.So I hope by the end of the week,I will know something.
