I got a $125 credit for reefer fuel that was incorrectly showing on the truck which brings the total variable to $6,065.90.

It's interesting that my trainee made almost as much as Ronin and his wife did with their own truck. Maybe, they need to be retrained?...

The key to making a positive income as a solo IC at CRE is driver unload pay. I've been a IC driver at CRE for 6 months driving solo and I take home $800 to $1200 a week. It depends on how many miles I drive (which is in the 2,500-3,000 mile range) and what I make unloading (which averages out to $400 a week). Why pay lumpers $400+ a week when you can pocket that yourself? Always keep in contact with your DM and constantly remind him/her of your ETA's and PTA's, so you can keep rolling. If those wheels aren't moving, you're loosing money as you still have fixed costs.

The IC program at CRE is the same as any other OTR company. You aren't going to get anything out of it that you don't put in.

 

NO! What is interesting is how in the hell you are supposed to be training while running team miles, not to mention your very limited experience. I'm sorry, but anyone with your experience would not be qualified to PROPERLY train my cat, let alone someone who is going to rely upon the training you provide to guide them safely.

The Qualcomm in the truck says our average speed is 61.66 miles per hour when the engine is running.

We get these good numbers by managing our clock properly and trip planning along with great support from our DM and load planner..

All of the major OTR companies are like this, not just CRE. If you leave CRE you're going to find the same crap at Werner, Swift, Prime, Covenant, etc. Every OTR carrier will have about a dozen or so drivers that like to hang around the terminals and tell you how bad the company is. I always think to myself, "If your pay is that low, why are you here at the terminal and not driving? Or how many late loads do they have? Or how many accidents, claims, load refusals, etc do they have?" I literally sat and watched my Phase I trainer refuse load after load. They are great companies to get your foot in the door and start building experience, but after a couple of years then you are best looking elsewhere.
