Yea, I get ya. Will call on Monday and talk to them about it. I wonder if being registered with a temporary agency but just laid off/out-of-work counts??? I've always been available for work, but about 90% of the factories around here are tied to Japanese OEM's and thats been a rocky road for a while.
Just got off the phone with Prime recruiting and looks like even though I have some unemployment in the last 3 years they still want to talk. I was directed to complete my app ASAP and then we will go from there. The recruiter gave me his direct number and said my app is/would be flagged in the sytem and he would see it as soon as I submit it.
Almost done with my first 100 hours and heading back to test/get my CDL. After this, do I have any choice on whom my trainer is for the next 50k miles? Or am I stuck with whomever they give me? Do they, like the instructors, look around for their next trainee? I only ask since I would prefer a female for the next stint of driving (I work better with ladies than men, go fig). Nothing against the guys, it's a personal preference. If prime's latest rules and such pretty much eliminate this possibility I can deal, it's a curiosity I had so far so good, either way!
ZiBop.. I think you may have your pick. Jim's testing out this week too and already has his trainer (his instructor's son).
Are you a dude? If so and you requested a female trainer it would throw up all sorts of red flags to me if I were in safety/personnel.
All companies will talk keep your feelers out. Try JBS Carriers they are growing like crazy. They are the largest beef producers in the WORLD.They just bought Pilgrims Pride they have been treating me great i have been with them 3months
JBS looks nice but you need either 1 year or be a recent grad. I have neither. So far, everything is going ok with PRIME, had to fax in all W2's since 08' today and the recruiter said he would be in touch tomorrow morning. Still saying he wants me in MO next week.
Ya know... trolling threads is looked down on at TTR. The number one reason to stay far away from JBS is Pilgrims Pride. Those places are the most mis-managed (meaning long waits for loads not ready) total stink-hole, open-sewer cesspools in the entire industry. I really did enjoy the day I heard JBS bought that mess...
