The WORST Shippers and Receivers - Truckers WILL NOT Buy Their Products!

This goes pretty much hand-in-hand with Wal-Mart: Saddle Creek Corporation - Lakeland, FL. Show up for 0800 appointment at 0730. "Sorry, sir, we cannot find your load based on the numbers you gave us." I have picked up there all the time, and have always provided the numbers needed. Had to wait to get a new pickup number; by then, thanks to my company, it was 0830. LATE!!!! Had to be worked in. Now it's 1330, and I'm not going to make the appointment at the Wal-Mart DC in Monroe, GA.

 

Wow...I guess I've been having a bit of bad luck with shippers recently, but at least these guys are up-front about it. Nestle-Purina, Allentown, PA. They told me beforehand it would be an eight-to-ten hour wait to get the load. Just for reference, if you pick up here, take a nap. Oh, and be sure to scale the load first chance you get. From what I understand, they have a tendency to overload.

 

Pilgrims ships all sorts of chicken throughout the country. They have several locations and I've picked up from 3. You show up at 8-9 pm and if you leave that warehouse by 4am the next morning, co sided yourself lucky. I've actually waited from 9pm until 11pm the following day. Only to receive an extra $35 from the broker. Oh and you better have your reefer cooled to 20 degrees the whole time you wait. When it's your turn, the switcher will sneak up to check your reefer temp and if it's not what they said, he'll wake you up to yell at you and they'll put you at the end of the line.
To that driver that mentioned wal-mart, I must say that they are the best warehouse to deliver to, when you look at their operation as a whole. They charge a flat $50 for one pallet or 20. Unlike places like HEB in San Antonio, where you can pay almost $300 to get unloaded in 5 hours. Wal-mart gets you out within 2 hours usually and you can show up an hour early/late to your appointment. I deliver to them at least once a week, sometimes 2x. The only negative things that i can say is that if you go to the wal marts in northeast then receiving clerks are just down right rude. And also that wal-mart is the most picky warehouse that I know of. They will check your freight, case by case if they have to and they are quick to reject a load. Which is fine by me because I get my money anyways.

 

Yeah, I'd agree... Pilgrim's Pride. The nastiest, smelliest, fly-ridden chicken house in the business. All of them.

Any of ya'all been to "Whitlock Packaging" in Wharton, NJ????
If so, what are your thoughts on this "zoo" of a customer??
To put it bluntly, I told my FM that I will NOT ever go back to this place again. They'll have to fire me. Yessssss, I can exlain if need be, but don't want to rant right now.

oh hell, Citisteel, claymont DE. sat this week for 14 hours there waiting for 2 plates. fun fun fun...ive never been in and out of that place in less than 5 hours..the sign no longer says Citisteel, its Ez---something..lol

 

If anyone needs a 34 hr reset, go to Smithfield in SC (near Florence). My appt time was 2000 on a Wednesday and I didn't leave there until 1400 on Friday.
