It was a serious situation, and in discussing it, I wouldn't want to see it turned into yet ANOTHER let's legalize marijuana topic...

 

In 1991, after I came back from Desert Storm and went back to work driving, the DIRTBAG sheriff in Michigan City, Mississippi got me out of my truck, just like you got rousted. At midnight. He told me I was involved in an accident. Took my D.L. number and left. Sent the company (J.B. Hunt) an $800.00 bill for a wooden utility pole someone ran into and broke in half. Caused me a major pain in the keyster. Took 6 months to clear up the mess that resulted when he billed the company for the pole. Turned out he sent a bill to every trucking company he woke drivers up for that night. After working in Law Enforcement, this was the first time I wanted to hurt someone in uniform. The scumbag still deserves a redneck butt whoopin for the disrespectful way he woke me up to scam me and the trucking company. He really put the "F" in enforcement.

He probably figured out a way to funnel the money into his bass boat account...

Nah leave it here. I agree with Admin that it is far more likley to be read here than buried and the advice given about opening that door is valuable.

I would rather remove my rant if people get a better idea of how to properly ensure their safety when confronted by the situation you faced.

In fact if someone could kill that response I would be most appreciative.
