When I drove a cabover we didn't have walk in sleepers. In fact, we didn't have much of a sleeper. Mine was about 36". We had to crawl out of the drivers seat over a huge console or doghouse, as we called them, and into the sleeper. One advantage was when you got out of the sleeper you could just slide into the drivers seat and be ready to roll. We only used the sleeper to sleep back then.

From what I hear the euro coe's are a whole different animal. Very nice. Also, apparently all the domestic trucks we export are equipped with much nicer, more comfortable seats, standard.

If I was to be a solo O/O pulling a flatbed,,this is what I would buy...

Driving up PA I79 to Erie in Mid-90's in an IH COE, the road was so rough it bounced my TV out of the cubbyhole onto the bed! And, no I don't want to "cabover" anymore. Crawling on the doghouse is like little kids crawling into a treehouse or "clubhouse".

The best handling truck i ever had was an Int 9670 Eagle double bunk... with a light backhaul, if I could make it from the tollbooth at the Delaware Water Gap on I 80 to a barstool in Hubbard Ohio I was happy with myself.
400 Cummins Big Cam, 13 spd, 3.55s and 2450 rpms. That truck handled like it was on rails.BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
i`ld do it again if i had to but don`t really want to..

I drove one ONCE, around the lot. If it was 40 years ago, and that's all there was to use, I likely would. But now?

I saw an old Walmart cabover that a garage had for sale for $4,500. Apparently, the owner didn't have the funds to pay for some repairs. I was tempted to buy it. The truck was an International.

I did kinda like leanin' on the steering wheel. Took some pressure off the ol' behind.
