You may be able to find an o/o or a small company to hire you but doubtfull. I doubt any reputable company would even think about it.. Now, not trying to be a dick but why didn't you do some research to see if you could get hired before forking out 5 grand for school?
BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
well you done screwed yourself, you need to find a crappy local company, a stupid O/O, or your best bet, Call Carolina Cargo! THEY WILL HIRE ANYONE! If they wont for some reason hire you......THEN be worried.
If you plan to stay in this industry you need to slow your roll!

Man oh Man,,,, this will be interesting to see what happens. Please, I say again, please keep us informed of what you do. I know there are companies out there that will hire you or an O/O, you just have to keep looking,,,research, research and more research. Your a text book case of a someone that has all the "Don't" for qualification to drive...
All that being said, keep your head up... Stay positive and sell yourself hard. I know, and so do most, about what it is like to do things we might not of done had we thought about it longer but, it happens. I know I have conquered my deemans and moved forward and so can you. Don't give up on anything that you truely want to do. -
are you for real, or are you laughing your butt off at us responding to you..???
well i'll "give you some benefit" of the doubt today.
and here it goes.
if these tickets are as recent as you say, and the drug charges as well, many companies WILL NOT TOUCH YOU. you may very well have to go to a VERY SMALL trucking company or perhaps an owner-operator for a job. then you MUST keep your nose clean from THIS DAY ON MIND YOU, TODAY, NOW.....!!!
in due time, those tickets fall off the radar screen, BUT they WILL ALWAYS BE on your PERMANENT driving record.
as for the drug charge...?? that almost NEVER comes off you record. many companies have a lifetime BAN on ANY drug issues....
well, this is all i got for now, if you are not a "one post wonder", you will be back, but be FULLY PREPARED to get scolded by many people here...
heck, if you let your attitude come out and get all defensive and such, i MAY also join in the ruckus......
you're pretty much going to deserve any scolding you get, as people (much like you) think that trucking is easy to get into just because they had a "little" problem or two, and they are sorry now......and they think they are owed something......if simply because they say they are sorry...
it just don't work that way....BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
Can you get out of class now and not owe money?...I had one person leave class while I was in school and they were not liable for the monies as they didn't complete enough of the class...
And like someone else said, your lack of research before starting is telling on how you approach things...Last edited: Jun 29, 2011

In answer to the question,
Who Will Hire Me,
alot of different companies.
But most likely not for a driving position,
perhaps you could try dispatching, planning, or sales !!BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
I have been researching companies prior to starting CDL School next month. Most all of the employment ads tell exactly what kind of record who can have or not have before they will talk with you. Not to be mean but a recruiter told me a couple of years back that people like me with no negative records are the ones who get the good jobs and people like you are given the worst jobs to see if you can make it. However coming from a construction background I do know that a lot of our lowboy drivers had records that kept them from working for the trucking companies. You might want to check into some local grading and hauling companies. Maybe start off driving a tandem then progress to the lowboy. Just a suggestion.
