    ************** Previous post ***************
    TQL Total Qualty Logistics
These guys are a bunch of jerks. Book a load with them and they call you 4 times a day. Won't answer the phone, won't call you back and if the load is booked, you won't get an address or directions with your confirmation. Had one that never called me back after getting a confirmation dispatch.
    *****************************************

I had a same problem with TQL. TQL gave me same day delivery load with good pay(If you can pickup). They sent order paper without address(only city) and I dispatched my drive to the pick up city to save time. After about 30 minute, TQL call and said the load was canceled.
When I request TONU(Truck order not used) pay they told me that they did not send address, so they will not pay.
So, be careful for the BROKERS who does not send COMPLETE ADDRESS.
I have at least two times for this kind of issue with two brokers who does not send complete address.

    Trucker! Let's help together! :biggrin_25514:

Ok. .......just finished. WOW!!! what a read. Everything from off topic of buying trucks to oa questions. Unbelievable lol some people should really invest in some Internet eidquit classes and learn how forums work. They could learn alot from here if they knew how.
Now with that rant out of the way.
I have a few questions that I'll post in a new thread ( most of these posts should been diffrent threads).

This is a good broker/ bad broker thread. That's it.

TQL never puts an address on their rate confirmations. There's a separate page for dispatch. If you returned a signed confirmation before they dropped the load, you should send an invoice for TONU on that PO with proof on the time you sent in confirmation. Unfortunately it's on you to prove it. If you have a record of good hauls with them, you might have better luck collecting on that invoice by talking with a manager or carrier relations person (they won't want to lose a good carrier).

Don't take this the wrong way - it's not a criticism of your mishap (Lord knows I've had a few). When I send our truck out, I pretty much expect nothing is locked in until the freight is in the box. The longer the DH the larger the risk.

When I got a TQL confirmation without address I called. Was told that I would be dispatched when I was MT. Red Flag for me. If you send me a confirmation then by industry standard you are dispatched. It takes my truck off the market and the load off the market. On more than one occasion I have accepted a load and been called with a better load. But did not take it because I accepted another load and have the confirmation.

What is to say that they didn't find someone that will haul it cheaper.

Told TQL and a couple of other brokers that do this that it will work one of two ways.

    1. If when I am MT and load falls thru then they will pay or

    2. I keep looking for load and use them as back-up.

TQL and one other said it was policy and I didn't take the load. One other agreed 100% with me.

Read the notes on ITS for TQL. You have to be dispatched, not just a signed rate confirmation,to be able to collect TONU.

I don't use ITS so haven't had the benefit of those notes. However, TQL puts that disclaimer right on every rate confirmation. Which is why I get the dispatch immediately, or I have the option of moving or not depending on how risky I think it is.

The reality I see is that, until the load is sealed inside my van, anything can happen and the risk is all mine. TQL has some a-holes working there and I've dealt with a few. So does every other large broker. Compared to some others, TQL has been very low maintenance and easy to work with, excepting those few bad brokers of course. And I do keep notes LOL. I think I've had one load get dropped by them and that time it was a good broker that immediately booked me on another, equivalent load.

Usually the difficult ones are the ones that lie about the cargo weight or schedule every load like your driver is just coming off a 10 hour break. The last one that did that to me got the riot act from me about HOS along with the great idea of putting a truck into Atlanta afternoon rush hour (4pm load appt NE, going west on I-20) that would add three hours to the trip. He assured me he'd been scheduling trucks for many years and knew what he was doing. Sure enough, the shipper loaded the truck wrong blocking the chute and we wasted 4 hours anyway while this broker had to make them fix the load. So rush hour and a next day delivery in Houston were no longer an issue LOL. Oh yeah.. this was also on day one of DOT week.

I guess it is just me but I believe a contract should work both ways. I commit to you and you commit to me. Not one way. Then you have to ask what is the purpose of a signed rate confirmation? LS and CHR don't even ask me for a signed confirmation. And they pay regardless. 3-4 weeks ago no sooner did I finish print CHR confirmation did they call me saying load was lost and paid me $150 without me asking.

No matter, TQL has few loads in lanes I run and rarely decent rate on few I have called on.

    Red,
Do you see many confirmations with that disclaimer on it? I looked at a few with only one saying it is not confirmed until rate conf. is sent back.

    wichris,
Must be missing it on ITS. Looked at couple of posts and nothing mentioned. Do see it on conf sheets.
