Careful if the parts are in big vats on pallets... they spread the pallets for weight... one hard stop and they all slide forward, and then you are overweight on your drives.

Sigh. Did it last night. Drop dead time of 2119, load ready at 0605 in Lexington, NE. I technically slept about 8 hours but I really slept like crap.

A bit of advice... develop some patience, or this gig is going to give you ulcers, high blood pressure, and a generally bad attitude!

I got held up for 16 hours a couple of years ago loading in E. Debuque IA... along with a couple of dozen other trucks. All waiting for one guy who got stuck in snow, shutdown, DOT'd, shutdown...

Ready to spit nails over it, but that doesn't do ya a bit of good.

Meat packers have a different set of rules to play by... the FDA is very strict about how a load is processed, trailer temperature at time of release, etc. If those rules aren't met at DDT the load will sit until they are, because people die from E. Coli bacteria... this is how they work to largely prevent it.
