Finish 1st day of orientation, lots of paperwork and free lunch from Arbys. Now I know why I don't eat there. Lol, but it was free.
nckid Thanks this. -
Truckergsch, sorry that happened to you. But maybe you were trying to reply to another post because your reply has absolutely nothing in common with my reply to Tmax..thanks

You will not average $500 or even $700 with Swift the first six months. You are looking at $300 to $450. Remember they take out your schooling and lodging once you go solo. Just do the math at 25 cents a mile.
You will not hold a average of 2500 miles a week either. If something should go wrong with your truck be prepared to wait and wait and wait. Sometimes they do get you out fast but just don't plan on it.
So expect to not make much money at all your first year and you won't be dissapointed. -

# tmax156 I think there is a misunderstanding. Fleetowner33 was talking as a owner not as an employee. Plus we are talking about Swift. I am going to them next Monday. He stated " Employees have no idea or either don't care about what their employer has invested in just to supply a job to make money for themselves and for the worker to make a living. " Employee's do care and are grateful they get the job. What they are not grateful for is the employer who lies to them , who dont pay them for their work, who pays them 3rd world wages. I hope the best for you and write down all they tell you and let me know how much came true. What did they say you can make a year? Didn't one guy say " average take home was about 530.00 weekly but that was running like a chicken with my head cut off." add it up.

Hi bluebonn
Thanks for the info. -
Ok day two of orientation more paperwork and lots of videos. Couple of guest speakers one on security and one on trip planning. I have decided to do teams met a gentleman here who has a lot of experienc
e in the industry (10 years) and has run team and solo. I look at this as being the second string quarterback in football where I can watch and learn from the starter if you get what I mean. He will be like a second mentor and plus make little more money.
