Wheathauler, sorry I gave you such a half hearted wave yesterday at Colwich! I had already passed by you when I realized it was you...for some reason I thought you ran a daycab. Hope Colwich treats you well for the rest of the week. Don't fall into a crater!

Congrats on the new addition, CJ. Keep him out of the truck unless you want a trucker for a son!

Thanks guys for the replys. Dad just said he was just to old school to deal with all the bs anymore he started his buissnes in 1969 he was farming with my grandpa but farming wasnt for dad lol. Back then when he got his own authority not sure of the year but you had to wait for someone to sell you there authority. He bought it for 150 bucks lol. He used to have a dedicated run pulling doubles grain hoppers from sublette ks area to canada. Its cool to here all the old storys and hes kept pictures of all the trucks hes ever owned. It was a rough end to 2010 his dad past away, he got hammered with a IRS audit then Dot came in. He thinks he was narked off i cant mention any names but a trucking company kept tyring to get his dedicated gig that hes had for 30 years, a local feedyard that dads trucks hauled all the corn, pellets, and some cattle and hay. Everything was hauled direct for costumer no brokers and the rates were really good. It funny to hear when he was gonna get out of trucking when fuel hit eighty cents. hahahahaha thats insane lol.

No problem. Was nice there today as far as waiting in line. They did fill the hole by grain pit.

New one to me. Are they Latinos? Doesn't sound good for rates.

I don't blame your dad I would have done the same thing after all that, I hope he gets to enjoy his retirement for a long time to come. He started in business the year I was born, lol. It was a little tough to get in the business back then compared to these days. $150 for authority is cheap in '69 when authority cost a fortune if you could get it. You also don't see hardly anymore but if someone applied for there authority there was usually someone that would protest it. A local hopper outfit was good about that and she had a good attorney.

Is Robles still in business? I heard out in western Kansas that some of the mexicans were getting out of the business because of other mexicans cutting the rates. :biggrin_2559:

Yeah one of Roble's drivers got tired of getting screwed, so he bought his own truck and leased it on to Oklahoma Ag. After he got tired of getting screwed over there, he got his own authority. He's buying trucks, hiring drivers, and leasing anybody on he can get. Sounds like a recipe for success if you ask me! :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:
