Never got a wrong load, but got double booked on one.. Planner made up for it with two days detention and a 1500 mile run.. Got screwed at a shipper last week and considered driving my truck up someone's butt too, but the paperwork would have been horrible.

Just glad I have a dm that listens to me ad actually reads all those macs we need to send in.

Mmm - just for kicks and giggles we took all the mileage we did as company drivers and figured out how many miles/week we did... for 14 weeks we averaged 3998.7 miles/week - that sucks!! We are a team - that is solo miles... and it doesn't seem like we are doing much better as L/O either... A friend mentioned a dedicated fleet - seriously thinking along those lines if the numbers don't improve :biggrin_25511:

If you go dedicated go kraft or Coors. They have the highest mileage of the dedicated fleets. However as I said in the Central thread that mileage sucks for a team...

I asked my old dm would the freight i get differ if I leased. He honestly told me freight is freight and if you are there when it has to go you get it lease or not.. Yet another reason I am company. Told the lease people to save their breath it ain't gonna happen.. Now all I see is the dang fuel surcharge messages."

Well I am now passing the torch to you guys and you can now tell drivers why it is important to drive for at least a year with your dispatcher as company drivers to see what your miles/pay will be like before leasing.

Well we are going to try to make it work - it might not be easy, but at least there are 2 incomes coming into the 'truck'... that will help :D

LOL - I'll never tell :biggrin_25522: but it made my daughter go EWWW when she found a map of the lower 48 with stars in some states and no stars in others - LOL! :biggrin_25523:

Well we finally got a run with 4 digits in the amount of miles - but 4 days to deliver - LOL! We are going to take advantage of it though, because it ends in Sacramento (where we are from) and we have 'stuff' we need to do at the house/in town... so even though we are getting there 2 days early, we are putting our time available to one day after - that way we can fit in some 'our' time... plus it will be in the middle of the week, so we have all weekend to get some miles (we hope)... our DM is going to try to keep us on this side of UT until my daughter pops and a couple months / weeks after that.

IF miles don't stay steady or improve though, we have put feelers out to one of the dedicated routes... and I'm watching what happens to someone else that just started with another dedicated route... steady miles is the MAIN thing, well GOOD steady miles - LOL!
