What up grades can be made to a VED12

marine engines work with constant throutle and that's why life is longer and 12L engine may carry so hi power well!

it is not all, marine emission standards are different and you cant use full power marine engine on road.

It is not all, D12 is not very tought and overpowered engine will not be reliable engught, so th only upgrade you can do - D16E, Cat C15 ore ISX.

 

There is a 775 hp marine D-12, buy injectors for that engine, change to bigger turbo and let someone program your ECM for more power. You have easily 800 hp and it will be more reliable and fuel efficient than any Cat. They are very tough engines. You can get almost 700 hp with programming only but high EGT will be a problem and bigger injectors and turbo solves that.

Have you or anybody you know used their Volvo ECM tuning service?

If so, how were the results?

 

I have done a little research on upgrading the d12d. There are a few upgrades that are safe but they are only exhaust upgrades; nothing as advanced as with the other motors for upgrades. I personally think that upgrading the tranny will do a better job of getting u the results u are looking for. Ive heard of trannies, even 18 speeds going for 3500 in salvage yards.. Just my 2 cents

Penta marine parts, D-16 injectors (marine) etc. Why not?

A friend of mine is just building a D-12D racing engine with D-16 injectors. His goal is 1000 hp with good response and wide power range for good driveability, max rpm 2800.
