They run them in Russia in the 80s and 90s with special permit like some Finnish companies did also. Finnish companies did it already in the 60s, didn't need any permits back then... My ex-boss was the first one to pull those combinations to Moscow, with 250 hp Scania LBS 76, totalling almost 100000 kg. Trailers came from Sweden where they were allowed back then but limited to 40 km/h (no one drove that slow..).
