I'm assuming there's a fuel bonus or detention/layover on top of the mileage in order to make 950. -

My second job in 1996 I made .30 a mile. I can't believe what they are paying you guys. Inflation has more than doubled since then.
You're a smart man freebird if you got a 401K going at age 22. You'll thank yourself 25 years from now.Freebird135 Thanks this. -
I also have a 401k I started mine when I turned 18 I put 15% in it.

I don't know. My company want's to see a .50 "pre-trip" on your logs, plus a "vehicle check" for every 150 miles driven (15 minutes minimum), a lunch or dinner break of at least .50, then you may have a fuel stop, drop and hook or live load/unload. We run "legal" so I have to drive within the 11 hours (or 14 total) for the day. Best I can do goverened at 62mph is 470 miles a day, but many days are just red-tape and aggrivation that end in me driving 100 miles for the day. Maybe after my 90 day hiring period is up they will pay for other things like driver assist unload, detention pay, hold-over pay...etc.
As a new driver I came into this field not knowing anything, and was hired by one of the many companies who hire students and are proffesionals at taking advantage of newbies.
It reminds me of the auto business (where I came from). I was a mechanic but saw first hand how car salesmen worked people over. When people came in looking to buy a new car they had 1) a trade in 2) very little money to put down and 3) they had to finance the car. They were dead meat just walking through the door. Just like jumping in a shark tank covered in blood. It's the same way these trucking companies exploit new students.
