A couple years after receiving my Texas issued CDL I was asked by the state to file a SR-22. My CDL was not revoked or suspended and has since even been renewed. I have fulfilled the reqirement of the state and recently discontinued the SR-22.
Based on my experience the license is not in jeopardy. However... The accident itself could impair your ability to retain or acquire employment. -

No, it won't be a death sentence.
Try to make a little more effort and type punctuation so your post is readable. I know you went out of your way to type that % on your phone! -

What is SR22 if I may ask, without hijacking your original topic. :smt017

An sr22 filing is from days of old where insurance companies and mvd/dmv's were not hooked up electronically. If a moron drove around with no insurance and was ticketed, or got a dui, or both their insurance company had to file an sr22 form with the dmv which basically states they are complying with the minimum insurance the state requires, and if said moron that needs the sr22 stops paying insurance and their coverage lapses ... that that insurance company will notify the state asap
In current times these forms are still used, but states are hooked up with most insurance companies electronically.
If you need an sr22 ... you will be on a high risk policy, which will cost quite a bit. And you may have to pay an extra filing fee.
Oh, and driving without insurance comes with the same point rating on your license in most states as a DUI .. so enjoy that insurance rate hike! -
