Is that a recap? I can't see too well in the pic but it looks like a virgin.

Unless that truck is controlled remotely from the company HQ, you are the one that turns the key to make it go. Grow a pair and get it fixed when you see the problem. Otherwise they will know that you can be abused to do whatever they want! I'm all for saving the company money, when it can be done legally and at no risk to me, my license or the motoring public.

No, but I would go to a truck stop and have it changed. That cost is less than the fine at a DOT inspection, the fine that you could get if the gator goes through someone's window, etc.

That's why I make sure never to post the company name.

Looks to me like it is completely flat now. Yup, all the air is out of it. And if you still can't see that it is flat then you didn't let enough air out.

About the only thing you can do is drive it until it blows. It may or may not make it without coming apart. My guess is that it won't make it all the way. Since it isn't your truck, all you can do is follow directions.

HA! the dispatcher who barely speaks english and has never driven a truck told me to let some air out of it and drive it like that. He also said that he didn't understand how a drive tire could have an issue, and he said it isn't possible for a drive tire to blow out.

See why I want to go on my own and actually do it right?

I believe in fixing things as soon as possible and doing it right. It might cost a little more, but it saves headaches and more money later. That tire having the piece missing is out of balance. That isn't good on the axle, the other tire, the drive line, etc. If it blows, it takes out the mudflap, maybe an airbag, possibly a tail light, and maybe someones front end or windshield if they are unlucky enough to be passing me. Seems like they're risking thousands in fines and possible other repairs to save 75 on labor.
