Most of the Swifties b****ing about their paychecks are either taking advances, turning down shorter runs or not being proactive enough to get miles. Here, you are the squeaky wheel or you aren't noticed. Being noticed isn't necessarily a bad thing.
As to your offensive comment about knee pads, no. Doing your job is not "sucking up." It's doing your job. If you don't, then don't expect to get paid. Pretty simple. In this company, laziness does not pay. I have never, either as company or lease, had any problem getting a decent overall average.
Slow weeks? Yes, on occasion. Trips that fall funny and don't get on the settlement? Yep. Customers accept freight on Thursdays, too. Even if it came from 2,000 miles away.
The only reason AT b****es about a company he knows, really, not much about and I don't think has ever worked for, is because he thinks it makes him sound cool. Heresay is not solid proof of how a company works. Human nature is to complain before complimenting. Therefore, you will see more complaints than attaboys.
Working for a smaller company only makes it easier to narrow down and dispense with those who complain. Your anonymity is lost. Especially when you paste your mug all over the internet and use the same name everywhere.
I don't b**** about W/S. Why? How about because I don't know anything about them with the exception of a few who like to look down their noses at another driver because of what it says on the wagon. Regardless of the FACT that W/S DOES NOT TRAIN their drivers. They take green rookies fresh out of a CDL mill and run them through a 10-day orientation. Then turn them loose on the unsuspecting public.
Comparing the millions of miles traveled every year by each company, I would say Swift doesn't look too bad.scottied67 and ironpony Thank this. -
Maybe you guys should up your controlled substance and alcohol numbers.....seems to work for Swift. -
Whats wrong with that, we have like 30 terminals, when I walk in i get "hey andrew, heres your paper work!" not, " who are you?" or "whats your Truck #?"
Same thing on the road, going down the road we almost all 95% or so wave at each other, and often times will talk on the CB till outta range, even if we havnt met yet........Do you enomomous drivers do ANY of the above????

Thats 90% Trailers issues, and they are working on that most of them are Trailer Brake issues....and lights.
I'm not sure what they are doing as of right now, other then asking us to check trailers a little better.

I imagine trailers can get pretty banged up even excluding abusive driving. I pass a drop lot on the way to work and it seems pretty tight at times. -
i wave at other Knight drivers, don't get too many waves back, hardly ever hollar at anyone on the radio. For the terminals.. i'd find it creepy for a DM at a terminal across the country to know my name.. everyone in my terminal knows my name and asks about how things are at home.
