Changing terminals is the only answer I see. I wouldn't even want a dm who knows your current dm. Total fresh start.
Is it time to say goodbye Swift and move on?

Blue, you run out of Houston right? There are no planners there at all. I don't know if Laredo has any either, I think it is all out of Lancaster. I would like to believe that the planner will have a harder time saying no to a DM that works in the same office rather than one who can only request help by message or phone for one of their drivers.

So I know it's easy to get upset with your DM when they come down on you for violating policy. A better approach to solving your issues would be to let them know that you are trying and you'll continue to try. Every time you get confrontational or have a smart answer they'll remember that. Most will tell the folks around them. Eventually they'll get to the point where they are going to help you less and less. Maybe that could be the difference between getting a good load, or running a short one. Your DM is simply doing their job, sure the suggestions they give are usually dumb but that it what they are taught to say. They also have a job to do. Just something to consider before you loose your cool on your DM.

I never lose my cool with DM. Always nice to her but I do let her know I have to make money because well that is why I am out here. The last conversation I had with her was about miles.
I told her if I do not start getting miles then I am going have to go some where else because I cannot afford to be out here. When she talks about the idol i tell her well it's 97 degrees at midnight i did not have a choice but to idol.
I have no idea what she is doing but if she was doing her job I would not even be having this conversation. I have no idea what she does but it's not doing me any good. -
You may want to remind her that 20 or more people have DIED due to the heat in the US in the past couple weeks. -
I'm glad I quit Swift.
I ran a load for one hour in the morning to make drop, then they expect me to take a ten, and run all through the night to make some other ######## load.
Sorry Swift, but I'm not some robot that can sleep on a whim. I've also had to decline loads, where I'm clearly situated for the day, but they give me something where I've been sitting for days, just lounging around in my truck for a weekend, been up since 5am, but they want me to make this 9pm pickup, and drive for a delivery that's 10 hours away. -
otherhalftw and inkeper Thank this.

But you already left Swift, so I am sure everything is perfect where you are now.otherhalftw Thanks this. -
Blue, I thought you changed terminals a long time ago. Yes, it's time to get away from Houston's BS. I can't believe they actually call that a terminal. It's actually just a drop yard.
Lancaster would be your better bet.inkeper and otherhalftw Thank this. -
BigShrek72 and inkeper Thank this.
