    Hi all,
My wife is possibly getting a job in Western Wyoming....she has been offered but is waiting on the results of an interview she had today. If we move west, my chances with Roehl are pretty shot because they dont go this far west. Actually its about 100 miles or so west of where we currently live...was hoping to move to MN but that might not be the case.

So...any other companies out in this neck of the woods that you recommend? I guess Im not familiar with that area yet so there might be local jobs or whatever...and in that case...I just need to get my CDL. Might be able to work at BNSF...but who knows.

Thanks for the info. Helps a lot if we stay in the area.
Well right now I live in Rawlins but Im hoping to move rather quickly(Brand new double wide if you are interested!). I think for a driver...Rawlins might be a good choice. If you have a haz mat...go to the Sinclair refinery...they pay very good and are always short on drivers...home daily (I got this info from the guy who runs the fleet over there). I forgot exactly where they run...but they pretty much run fuel and gas all over. I know for a fact they go out to St. Lake city to the airport as they are the closest refinery that makes airplane go go juice. Even if you dont get into that...there are lots of pipeline jobs in the area. Im right on the 287 bypass so I see lots of trucks every day going up to casper and the like. Lots of trucking jobs here in town from what it sounds like...I just don't have a CDL yet.

I think you are right about I80...it sounds like it is favored over 90 to the north and the mountains to the south. We have two truckstops here in town and I can see the interstate from the house (couple miles away...but I can just make out the trucks and cars)...seems like a big truck route

80 traffic is only expected to get worse, or thats what the WYDOT says they think is going to happen.

Jeesh, is there a reason its supposed to get worse, or was that what I mentioned? lol. I know they are in the process of (I think) rebuilding or repaving the bridges along I80 over here...at least thats what it seems. There was construction here last fall for a long time...then it stopped...now it started up again, down to 2 lane traffic. Then there is the same east towards laramie and then west (last time i was there....looked like a big flippen project) at Rock Springs.

I think they need to get all these crews to pile up into one huge group and tackle one project at a time...things would go so much faster.

On most days, I personally don't think its bad...its busier than other interstates Ive been on...at least as far as trucks...seems to be a greater number of those out here. They just need to do something about the winter...when it snows...they shut the interstate down. Then the town fills up with trucks in basically any parking lot available. Im from northern MN and I don't think Ive ever seen a highway or interstate shut down...when they had snow coming..they had crews out long before the storm hit...during the storm, and after the storm. Here its like "uh...Frank...did you see it snowed last night?" "....yup" "should we go clear it out?" ".....See this cup o coffee?...maybe later"

Its not the snow, but the wind that makes 0 visibility that closes the road. Don't knock it unless you've been in it. Its scary when you cannot in the least tell where the road is.

WYDOT predicts that all traffic across 80 will increase. And they are even considering adding a 3rd lane state line to state line.

It means that will add a third lane to the existing two that will run across the state. Also, I agree with you assesment of your self.
