If you are fat there are other issues which should be of concern to you other than having to take a sleep apnea test. Fat people tend to have many more health problems than those who are of normal weight. Diabetes is one of them. Fat is hard on your organs, such as your heart. Not only is it hard on your body, you will feel better once you lose some of the weight. You can lose weight, even eating in truck stops by making better decisions. I will sometimes eat an omelet and substitute fruit for hash browns or fries. Lower your intake of carbohydrates. You can see pounds melt off your body by going on a low carbohydrate diet. Stay away from most anything that is white, such as potatoes and bread. Get out of the truck and so some walking. Park at the back of the truck stop instead of the nearest parking spot. It can sometimes be more of a challenge to eat right on the road, but it can be done. You don't have to eat everything on your plate. Eat smaller portions. Eat a balanced diet which should include green vegetables, salad, etc., Drink lots of water. In fact, you could substitute water for a soda or drink unsweetened iced tea rather than one with sweetener. And stay away from artificial sweeteners, those will kill you. If it bothers you to think about going on a diet, then consider it as eating more healthy.

Yeah... me too. At least they're not firing people over it like at other carriers.

I have not heard of any carrier firing drivers who are obese.

I'd heard someone relate that Covenant was letting folks go for sleep apnea and whatever "too many CSA points" is.

I have not heard of any who have lost their jobs due to sleep apnea, but did hear about some who have lost their jobs because of too many CSA points. Some carriers have also reduced the number of moving violations from 3 to 2.

Obesity and sleep apnea do not add points to your score. Too many points means bad inspections, tickets and crashes.

    Well... yeah! :biggrin_255:

Two separate issues. This was also the carrier that fired someone for coming up HIV postive about 3 years ago.

They have changed they now allow huge people. You must be missing a few teeth though and must carry at least a slight B.O. smell. They frown on taking showers. If you don't smoke they will ask you to start. Each new employee gets a carton of smokes.
