If you go to Covenant I hope that you like to Team, from what they told the class I was in, you have to run Team mandatory for 6 months. This is of course after the 4 to 6 weeks of training.

Yes, I have done extensive research on both, that's why I know its a flip of the coin, going to be B.S. and the list goes on and on, however, my choices are limited and I need to get some OTR in.
Also, wasn't getting much response from the other, seems like I'm getting much more on this one...
Be careful out there brother and I do appreciate everyone out there on the road and inform others of how important we all are and how much sacrifice we all make to keep others warm, cozy, and happy.... -
Some say they would hire me but my DAC shows two majors (which aren't really there as I have a copy of both DAC and MVR (current))
Then there were TWO!!! One says they will and have put it in writing, and the other says everything I heard they would say from this forum and "looks good, lets get you down here" So I'm going to call them on Monday and see if I can get them to commit as the other one has...."IN WRITING" with signatures....
Just trying to figure out which one is the lessor of the two evils I guess...Last edited by a moderator: Mar 4, 2013

NOT a jerk move, actually just the opposite. I have obligations that in my current situation I can not meet....Now with a new baby on the way there are going to be even more obligations that I must meet and provide for....
I have been trucking for 12+ years and am completely aware of the hazards, risks, emotional status, and the downside to trucking, HOWEVER, I am also aware of the UPSIDE....
If I stayed here and flipped burgers I would then lose my house and everything else which would mean that I would be putting my child and girl out on the street, that's not an option. So the option is, since I am almost completely unhireable at this point, to take what I can get, make what money I can (which if figured weekly and NOT hourly) is more then McDonalds, then I can provide for them, and get the experience these others are saying I need to get back to work and get back home....
I'm in a BAD situation, but I placed myself here by leaving what most truckers consider a "bad" company which was actually very good, for a "great" company which paid EXTREMLY well, and I was home most nights with great benefits. Unfortunately I got hurt on the job and have been out of work since they fired me while out on Workmans Comp....
That company (which simply won't verify I drove for them) and my second of misjudgement has lead me down this path....
My only end to this is to pick my head up, kiss my girl goodbye(only for a few weeks at a time), and start at the beginning. Difference is that I have 12 years, so I know what I know now and will use it.
Sacrifices will be made now so that she and the baby and I don't have to make them later! -
For piece of mind and to keep the sanity I still have left, I think I will just go with the original plan that I started here in the first place, just close my eyes, suck it up, and write about it over on my other thread....They gave me the job in writing and think even though the other company may give me more miles, if I plan on getting another "GREAT" job I should be more concerned with my CSA not the mileage....
I may have gone a little overboard with the postings of threads but times ticking, banks are calling, and baby's coming so I guess I better get going! Monday is it then I need to make a decision... -
I have read EVERY post about them on this page and realize they may need drivers badly, but so do most other companies....Their difference was that they took my word as truth, which it is, that I ran a couple states and was not a "local" driver home every night... They (even if it's out of their own needs) have done what every other has not.... verified my last 5 years of employment and guarunteed me of this and other things in writing...
kinda thinking I will decide after Monday cause if W.E. wont do the same, then it either means I'm making the best decision I could have made, or the worst.....you see how no matter what or why I choose I go straight back to the beginning, and why I even started posting here....Cause they both suck!!!!!!!!!! lol! -
Did you apply to jbs?
-
Was that a misprint? -
Hey Giant,
Thank you for posting that, I found them after checking their thread here and checked out their website....
I am unsure if they will consider me as my last 5 years of employment is NOT going to be able to be verified other then my employment date and termination date and they label me as an "equipment operator" not a truck driver, but I am going to give them a shot just like I've given a bunch of other companies...
I appreciate you giving me this opportunity by simply mentioning a company that most hear nothing about.
Hopefully I'll have some good news on Monday... You never know!
