Cobra Electronics 7750 PLT GPS

I bought a cobra 7750 plt a couple weeks ago. The unit is impressive and stable. But the maps are depressing compared to google maps.
Out of my first 5 location searches, my 7750 could only find one. Google maps found all 5 locations in less than 3 seconds per search.

So, for the maps; 1 out of 5 is a failing grade. Sorry. To upgrade the map program at $150. is a little rude.
Program is great otherwise.

I have the program upgrade only and believe the guys getting weight alerts could be from; when traveling on a truck route in a major city "ON YOUR GPS ROUTE", I believe the warnings are for the side streets that you approach. That's the way I read it.

I just switched from the 7700 to the 7750, couple of things, I downloaded and installed the recent update but how do I check the 7750 to see its current version, next: the exit assist is the same as the 7700 I thought you got the cool pic of the exit sign, and when entering Quebec Canada on Hwy 401/20 while sitting at the Quebec scale somewhere around the 26 km mark it said 3 miles to scale, the 7750 showed the ramp for the scale I was on but still said the scale was 3 miles away.

 

Figured out how to check version and am using 2.0.1.9

Just an update to my original post, on my way back from Quebec as soon as I hit Toronto the display changed from the basic lane assist I mentioned to the more elaborate one, does it depend on the area you are in or did it just take time for the update to kick in? Also I was reading a post on the 7700 forum about the unit saying to make a U turn, this one did it last night, we were kicked off the hwy due to an accident can't remember the exit # but said to make a U turn, I know that if you go from Windsor Ont to Toronto Ont and decide to jump off at exit 199 for the truck stop it says to make a U turn to get back onto the Hwy. And speaking of truck stops any plans to add Canadian truck stops to the programming.

Precise problem Precise Location :

1- 08886-Stewartsville ,NJ I-78 Miles marker 6 is a Gov scale
BOTH side For the pass 5 years
((( not show on )))

2- 12549-Montgomery ,NY I-84 Exit #5 TA Truckstop is located on
Neelytown Rd Come back east from that location to get back
on I-84 East The direction tell me to turn left at the end of
Neelytown Rd to take the get on ramp at my Right
((( FALSE !!! )))
that ramp is been relocated 4 and half years a go directely in
direct line whit the end of Neelytown rd

3- 27542-KENLY ,NC Exit# 106 Truckstop Rd Flying j Is loacated on
the East side of I-95 ((( From the top of the over pass
and 1 miles each side all the way down to the PLaza
NO SIGN OF LENGTH LIMIT GPS WARNING not more than 48' ?

4- 32809-Orlando ,FL The Overpass of Sand Lake RD go over the rail
road track located between Sunport Dr and Orange Ave
GPS WARNING WEIGHT LIMIT 20,000LBS
NO SIGN 1 MILE EACH SIDE OF THE OVERPASS ???

5- FLORIDA TPKE FROM 33169-Miami ,FL all the way up north to
34785-Wildwood ,FL Is show as FL-91

IS BEEN RENAME 17 years A GO WHEN THE
OLD ROAD IS TURN IN A TOLL RD ???

Is there a map update for the 7750 or one coming? and a major software update, the 7750 is not Canada friendly, when in the U.S and take a different road than the 7750 it reroutes but in Ontario its suggestion is always U turn. Also many roads in Mississauga Ont. ie. Export Blvd are displaying that it has a 10,000 lb weight restriction, this is an industrial park road. Gonna hold onto my 7700 alittle longer just in case.

 

I had a RM tnd 700 and it stopped charging and decided to buy the 7750 plt and hope it was better. The first thing I noticed is the main screen maps are like old VGA graphics. The lines for the roads are jagged and display looks cartoonish. Is there a way to make the screen have a better resolution? The tnd screen is very crisp and easy on the eyes. Also I was driving today and the unit just started chimeing. Three tones same note then three tones that were different. What is that?
