On another note. Maverick does not "promise" you will be home every week.

Sounds to me like maybe you got in over your head and used excuses rather than fact and tried to blame Maverick. They are nothing like what you described. They give you more than enough opportunities to make it. This job ain't for whiners and quitters.

    notarps4me Thanks this.

I have to agree with all the other posts. Maverick never once "promised" to get me home every weekend. They said that I could "expect" 80-90 percent and they did a lot better than that.

As far as switching divisions without you authorizing it...I seriously doubt this. Glass is a specialized division and they are not going to just "stick" you in a specialized division without your OK.

I have a hard time understanding why you would go through orientation, then get hired (which is now on your work record that you worked there) and then just quit? If you didn't sign up for Glass then why did you even go to Laurinburg??

Although, maybe you just weren't cut out for it. The guy who can't find the proper classroom after being told where it was probably can't follow direction. The same goes with the person who can't leave their cell phone in the room probably will take the same consideration with everything else he does. It's their way of seeing who can do what.

As for feeling like cattle...well...maybe more military line em up, get it done, but I could see the cattle thing if you look at it like that.

They bring a class through every week and it is very organized. They have a schedule to keep to get you through and get you going.

Maverick is an excellent company. I had no problems with them when I worked there. They did what they said they would and they were straight up with me. I told Jim many times...you will quit a hundred times in your head, but it is the person with the right attitude that makes it.

Sorry this turned into a book... I miss you guys!

    Be careful out there

I can still hear Curt saying..."We will try to get you home or through the house every weekend, but there are no promises!":biggrin_2554:

I just spent about an hour reading some of my old posts from right before I got my own truck and then my first loads afterwards. It seems so long ago...yet only 17 months.
I have learned so much, but realize I have much much more to learn.

Went up to the truck and sent in a qualcom message about the funeral and having to dead head home tomorrow after I deliver up in Cleveland. Got a response back right away saying it was not a problem at all.
Maverick has always been great when it has come to family emergencies! They could not be any more gracious! I sincerely appreciate it!

Made my delivery this morning and then turned around and dead headed home. Tomorrow is the funeral. I may decide to just wait until Monday to go back to work...not sure yet though.
