I understand very little on radio theory and have a few questions. The first question is what is swing?

I don't understand why it is called swing. The word itself would lead someone like me to believe there is nothing scientific about radio theory because the word swing sounds as if something were unpredictable. Swing is not the output wattage correct?

I must be a complete idiot because that was utter gibberish to me. To simplify if I buy a 29ltd will the stock swing be enough that I don't need to change anything? lol

Thanks for the attempt Yup. :)

What does a Peak and Tune typically run? Not really looking into amps or anything like that. I just want to know the thing will run at the best it is capable of as a single unit all in one box.

    If you dont need,dont buy

Cobra's talk great out of the box, good antenna(Wilson 2000 is a fan favorite) and a noise canceling mic like the RK56 and you'll do a good job
    of/at talking 3-5 miles.

Purchasing from places like Sparky's who sell radio's "ready to rock"
are hard to beat, the rigs are peaked/tuned/converted/aligned etc
at no extra cost, most all shops do charge "for extra's"

Seen a lot of good radios ruined after a visit to a "GOOD" CB shop. Caution is advised as to who you let take the covers off your radio!!!! There are people who will swear by a CB shop who have let said shop run 12 volts to the finals, do the super wackpack peak and tune, make it modulate 1000%, and do an "expert" alignment....by ear!! None of which you want done to your radio.
