Any info on Trojan Horse Ltd?

    ok ive been at trojan just a short time. but i have never noticed anything wrong with my pay. and as far as that driver saying something about 401 k how many other co put over 4 dollars a hr up to 40 hrs a week in a 401k. and there pay rate for there drivers is 21.46 a hr and i work 40 to 43 hrs a week i only sleep in the truck 1 night a week. he is right about there equipment it sucks but it gets the job done. the logs yes i have heard and seen them change the e logs. i avg around 875 to 1000 a week and thats not to bad for being home alot. and the way i see it driver you were there 4 yrs if it was that bad why did you stay there are alot of cos out there. but u decided to stay 4 yrs.

    The company is not putting anything into your 401 thats your money!! I was with them for 3years before the mandated 401 deposit was put in effect. He does that to save on payroll tax wait till you try to get it out it cost you a fortune good luck keep an eye on your pay trust me bud..

    Ok if u knew anything about a 401. Anytime u take it out early you will pay a fee plus other fees for early withdraw. If u get a loan on ur 401 then u r borrowing from ur 401 and u r paying yourself back.

    dude i was giving you my insight of trojan. i was there 4 years type to me in 2015 let me know what you think of trojan..

    hey buddy watch out they steal ur money one hour here one hour there .. i work there 10 year ago .. MR hicks when to jail because he was jerking with the taxes ... he got couple of company name so he can play with the tax .... they dont give #### about u they dont give u respect they threat u like #### :mmad::mconfused:

    Wow! It says "New Bedford Mass," I am guessing one of the guys who quit or got fired up there. Here, I'll tell you my name: Marshall Wise. I am the supervisor in Willow Hill, PA for Trojan Horse. I have worked here since Jan 1, 2006, when Brian Hicks bought the company. I worked here from 1995 to 1999 when the company was called M.W. Gunther. Brian came on as my relief driver then, before I moved out west, so I think I know of what I speak. Nasty and untrue posts like yours are counter-productive! Since I've been meaning to answer the posts on this thread for a couple years, I guess I will today.
    Yep, the Health and welfare goes into a 401k! Sorry, ALL contractors are going to this. You can thank Mark Matheson at Matheson Postal for that... if they just gave it to you as cash, A: the companies have to pay huge taxes on it as "payroll" and B: you would never save the money for your retirement, thus being a drain in the rest of us taxpayers. I know I wouldn't and now I have a goodly amount of money in there. Yay! Times have changed and you need to learn that. Again, ALL the postal contractors are going to this kind of system.
    WHO told you to do that? Not hardly partner. My drivers don't. If it's snowing and you can't make it back, we have sleepers w/ APU's on the truck. Again, WHO told you this? WHO was your manager?

    Are you for real? Contracts change all the time. All the P.O. has to do now is give them 60 days notice. So, you're mad that the P.O. changed the contract or it was changed in some way... what world are you living in? I am sorry to sound harsh, but man, I have worked for 10 postal contractors (both sides of the country) in my life and this one is right up there at the top.

    As to saying that all the owner cares about is paying his child support? Are you crazy? I know him, like KNOW HIM PERSONALLY and I know that he doesn't think that way.

    Junk trucks? You have to clean your own truck. My trucks are maintained constantly and the drivers keep them up, FOR WHICH THEY ARE PAID. I don't know where you get off calling the trucks "junk" I HAVE seen some like that, they tend to come from drivers who are PIGS and my drivers end up having to clean up the pig's messes.

    It's a business and it's a tough business. Only 1 in 10 drivers will make it as a Mail Hauler. 1 in 10! People like yourself, who think this will be some "union" job or that the company will change for you will not make it. Hauling Mail is not like hauling freight. You have to be on time, you don't get to stop at the Cracker Barrel for lunch or not run if it's snowing. That saying "Through rain, through sleet, through dark of night" is NOT a marketing gimmick. We work 24/7 to haul the Mail. Many, MANY people cannot do this. It takes attention to detail.

    I am sure I'll answer more here, as there were a number of posts. Have questions? Feel free to ask them of me. I have hauled Mail for a long time and will admit I don't know everything, but I do know a lot on this subject.

    I am sorry, should they throw away hundreds of thousands of dollars on taxes to the government or give you something you can use? Most companies (that I will not name) put it in a BAD 401k or make you take bad health benefits. It is what it is. Stop w/ the sour grapes. Man, it's a BUSINESS, if they can't make a profit then they won't stay in business and Mail Hauling is a tight industry. Where are you working now? I bet you're not making that much money!

    Hey Cabron, you didn't work here 10 years ago. Not for Mr. Hicks. He didn't own it then, or are you confusing Trojan Horse w/ MidWest Transit, a company once owned by his father or SLM, a company once owned by his sister. Totally different companies.

    Please, tell me how they did not respect you. Here's the thing: Most of MY drivers have been here for YEARS. Long term drivers. Is everything perfect? No, I'd like $20k a month and Shakira as my secretary, but as far as a mail contractor, they are pretty good. WE have new equipment; they've been upgrading over the last couple years and good runs. However, we also take care of our stuff, run the runs on time and do our job. Yes, I drive too. It's all attention to detail and doing the job. You have to have respect for the guy following you and you don't leave him hanging. You clean up your own messes.

    One other thing, we have computer logs: Unlike ANY other Mail Company I've ever worked for, this one PAYS RIGHT. I mean actual pay vs. "route pay" where you get a certain amount every day w/ nothing extra no matter what the delay. That's great AND I am not gonna get a log tix because it's in the computer. Guess what, when a trooper or DOT asks for my logs, I say "I don't have one" and as they spool up, I then say "I have a computer." They always tell me "Get out of here" as they know there's no tix there for their quota. We run legal... some don't like that. I've any number of drivers who can't wrap their brain around the fact that you can't cheat w/ this and you have to follow the law. Hmmm, rocket science, huh!?

    I don't know anything about your company Marshall. But, I do work for a postal contractor, and my health and welfare pay does NOT go into a 401k. So, not all contractors are doing that.

    They will. Sadly, it's the way of it. Like I said, thank Mark Matheson. I used to work there and they are the ones who started that thing and got contractors to do it. You can't blame them and really, would you save it on your own? I know I won't.

    Who do you work for? Just curious. Again, I put my real name here. Prob my pix too, but I'm too lazy to do that today. Not like you can't easily find me by doing a google search. :-Þ

    Anyway, I've been hauling Mail for 27 years (scary) and I have worked for some dirtbags. One said I had to change tires (w/ no extra pay) I wouldn't, he fired me. Yay! Another wouldn't pay late slips?! He's dead now. Was just an old school, old guy. C'est La Vie! I can think of two that didn't pay my social security... The first was the chunderhead who wanted me to change truck tires... the second was U.S. ParaTransit of Philthadelpia, which got bought out by L&G (a company from Georgia) and then this, in turn, was bought by MC of A... nice. Do ya think MCA will be paying my SSI? Bet not.

    This company is decent. Helps I have known the boss for 26 years -- kind of why I bristle when I see people saying things about him -- they don't know him at all. It's a hard thing that he does -- I know that I certainly wouldn't wish to be responsible for 400 people's welfare. Think about that. Would make your hair turn gray.

    I'm at Eagle out of Indy. I do get paid for the delays, but thanks for the info on others. If I move on I'll be sure to ask about those things.
