May be an unfair question, but do you guys tend to shy away from that mess, due to the time needed to decipher, much less get the faxed info?![]()
Just some of the stupid things I see

I had a Texas DOT guy ask to see my last 10-hour break in my e-logs when I was with Prime. E-logs are not that difficult to look at. The graph is the same and, for the most part, will say right there whether the driver is in violation and how much time is left on all three clocks: 11/14/70.

no speak el english

I know personally everytime I'm asked for my logs and tell them I need an email address or fax number and I'll send it they always say nevermind.
-
SNI was going to them across the board when I left. I don't recall seeing a graph like you're talking about, in fact, I'm trying to remember what the whole thing looked like.I do recall I'd screw it up regularly, then fight with it for an hour or so before I gave up and made a phone call.

I have an electronic log program in my laptop. Im an owner op it's not a company logbok. I keep a printer in case im asked to produce logs. I hae once of twice a long time a go but for the most part they see my laptop they always say nevermind.
Plus there is no way to run them illegal. The line is blue on my laptop screen. If i go over hours it goes to red, right at the point where i am illegal. So i always now that when they see my books, they cant find anything wrong because i've already fixed it. They know that too, probably why they never ask for it. -
Just to clarifiy, when i said they cant be run illegal, all i mean is if there's a mistake, it will let me know. I can still go in and change any data i want at any time, it just proofreads and lets me see if there's a problem.

My e-log has no graph.
My e-log has no real reacap. Will show the next day, but that is it.
does not show total hours for the day, for either line.
Have to go thru and add up all the time. Line by line.
Or have the office send a copy to their fax. They can send a graph that way. -
The QualComm product has a number of screens that show the HOS data in tabular format... today's activity, HOS clocks for both US and Canadian rules, and an 8-day recap. A daily summary screen that shows in bar graph form what you have available yet today. There is also a current status screen that allows you to change your status between off, sleeper berth, driving, or on-duty not driving - and if your carrier allows it driving off duty. There is also an approval screen that allows you to "approve" all of the current log entries and edit the lines that don't involve driving.
As well as a graph screen that is exactly what you see on a paper logbook.chalupa Thanks this. -
So does mine. Mr. Leo generally directs his attention elsewhere when he see's I have elogs.
Some wise words though, best have a paper backup in possession, best have the laminated card with instructions for Mr. Leo and it would be wise to help Mr. Leo navigate the console if he wants it.......
