I am glad that you got back into trucking....I know you were missing it!

 

I had a good week. I was empty at the house as I was off all last week. I dead headed up to Butler In to pick up a coil going down to Memphis tn to Metal Prep. When I got there I had to wait because they had just had their crane go down and got a flat on their fork lift that they take the coils off with.
After I got unloaded I headed over to Nucor in Memphis. I was not thrilled because the last time I waited 6 hours. This time it only took about 3 hours from start to finish. This load was going up near Chicago for an 11 am delivery in two days. The guy in front of me was going to the same place but his was delivering the next day and his load number was after mine...go figure.
My fleet manager got it changed to 7:30 am so it was not too bad, but It was still the same day.
From there I got a load out of Portage in the Port of Indiana of sheet steel going down to North Carolina.
I made my delivery there and dead headed over to Knoxville where I picked up the 50,100 lb load of rebar heading to waldo WI.
I could really tell the difference with the weight of this load. Just doing a straight line back up a small incline at the truck stop caused the transmission to go into Clutch Abuse Alarm.
I deliver on Tuesday. I contemplated leaving out super early this morning and delivery tomorrow...but I would only have a couple of hours left of drive time and I was concerned about getting jammed up depending on where they sent me. So I will enjoy my extra night at home and stop near Milwaukee tomorrow evening and get to see my friend JD.

 

Right now they are getting the trucks in up to 27413. I have 27420.
I was up in Gary last week, and I was the only truck that was an 07.
I should get mine in the next go around.
There is going to be a recall on the ac units that they are having problems with. The circuit board is getting wet so they will have to make some modification to correct it.

 

Trucking Business?

 

Went up and vacuumed the truck and scrubbed the floors. Put Pledge on the dash and she is clean and ready to rock and go to Wisconsin tomorrow. Hopefully will get to visit with JD.
