    Can anyone tell me how accurate the TND'S are navigating Chicago? Bridges and other obstructions for trucks

    Not at this time, but Rand is ever growing in looking to the trucking industry to see what best mets the needs of the professional driver.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Until Marketing releases these type of specials, I cannot mention them.

    *Lifetime Maps provides purchasers with an annual base map update for one (1) Rand McNally device, when and as such update is made available on Rand McNally websites, until the shorter of 1) the useful life of the Rand McNally product, or 2) such time as Rand McNally no longer receives updated content from its map supplier.
    Internet connection and Rand McNally Dock software are required. Lifetime Maps is not transferrable to another person or another Rand McNally product. Lifetime Updates provided by the Lifetime Maps feature apply only to the same geographic map data originally included on your Rand McNally device at time of purchase.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    If you already have purchased Maps, then I will post information about that a little later as I get the word.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Well, GPS is 26 days old and the speaker stopped working as I have seen reported by others earlier in the thread. Called the local TS I bought it at and they said they would exchange if update doesn't fix it RECEIPT OR NOT since it has been a common issue.... Funny part is they will need to order another one since this has happened so often (speaker issue) that they stopped carrying the 510 and 710 in stock, hope I have the receipt so store can get it's money back from Rand McNally. As for customer service related to rand McNally GPS it has been great on here, at most t/s, at my local T/S and TERRIBLE from rand McNally seems they are just like DELL Computers when it comes to CS

    The speaker is not a common issue. Upon the thousands sold a few did go bad which some were posted here. Any truck stop does not carry a high inventory. Most clerks at any store are usually not aware of the products they sell and could not tell you the operations of the navigation units.

    As for customer service, I could say anything is bad, but Rand cannot fix general statements. Details would be very helpful. You could PM, E-Mail, or post here.

    As stated before, it is human nature to post what is bad. When was the last time you posted something good about any product?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    I have purchased the powered USB hub as directed on the forums and I still can not get my computer to recognize both devices within my TND-500. Any Suggestion or ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Well my warranty replacement 700 apparently bit the dust today. Just in time for the warranty to expire no doubt. I'll have to check the receipt; it's close. Warranty replacement was done around January. Anyway, I was rolling on 80 East, about to get off at Walcott, and the screen started flickering like crazy, then got real dark like night mode, I think I saw the "NO GPS" icon come up, and then it shut off. Tried to power it up plugged in and unplugged, tried hitting the reset, nothing...
