    I am a single O/O as an owner and the driver. No employees but me.
    I am down to a few questions on my audit checklist and wondering how anyone in my exact situation handled these:
    Going down the checklist. I am in good shape but for these....how did u guys handle these?

    ~~~~~~~~
    "Does the carrier have a system in place to insure drivers med cards remain current?"
    "Does the carrier have a system in place to insure operating licenses remain current?"
    "Does the carrier have a system in place to insure annual reviews and annual records of violations remain current?"
    "Does the carrier have a system in place to effectively control the drivers HOS?"
    "Are other independent records compared to drivers HOS logs for accuracy?"
    "Does the carrier have a system for monitoring speed?"
    I would search the archives on the Landline website. I remember reading how to handle these a couple of years ago. It might be worth the search.
    Put copies of your CDL, longform physical, physical card in a driver qualification folder. Get a copy of your driving record at least once a year, put that in there too. The first thing the auditor wants to look at (in Nevada, anyway) is your drug testing program, so make sure you take a pre-employment drug test, make sure you have a copy from the collection site, along with all correspondence from the consortium you belong to. He said I was missing the MIS data form, I called the Consortium, they faxed it right over.
    In my case, the auditor wanted to see fuel receipts, BOLS, roadside inspections, and my original logs for the previous six months. He went back about thirty days, and was satisfied.
    Can't help you with that. Wasn't on his "list" of things.
    FYI- this was a regular safety review a number of years ago. Never had a new entry audit, so the procedures may be different.
    ..thanks guys. I have a full driver file and enrolled in Drug/alcohol testing oct 2010. I took a pre-empl test and have all the paperwork.
    I fully believe I am 100% ready but for those few questions....
    -of course its no longer pass/fail but an 'educational' visit from the new softer kind of DOT. Of course that's what the officer lady told me....
    Just completed the audit.
    100% perfect score...
    ...I am one of 5 total that obtained a perfect score from her.
    She has done 2000 new entry audits in the last 4yrs....That's a lot!
    OUTSTANDING!
    What references did you use when you were preparing for it? I'd like to join your club!
    OOIDA (advice) helped me and so did JJ Keller (forms). I actually enjoy learning rules/regulations (go figure) so I guess that's why.
    When she told me she only had 4 100% people until now, that was enough motivation to zoom through this. I spent all weekend working on paperwork...
