There's always two sides to every story but nothing excuses a man hitting a woman. I don't give a dam what happened or how drunk or stoned or what. That crap needs to stop. The penalties for domestic violence aren't stiff enough if these jackwagons get out and pick up where they left off.

I'm a big COPS fan. Domestic violence has to be #1 call.
I was raised the same zebco. There is no excuse for touching a woman. I would step in, in a heartbeat if I ever seen it and I have.zebcohobo Thanks this. -
Actually, I beg to differ on the no excuse. There are rare times when it is both appropriate and deserved. But those times are so rare that you may as well say no excuse.
I, too, have seen misuse of the legal system and I believe there should be stiff penalties for it. Like community service and fines. Staged violations of restraining orders and false reports of domestic violence plug the blotters some nights. Then, when something really does happen, an officer is not available. -
It's all about the benjamins when it comes to domestic violence. A case in point: My friend and neighbor had been in his own yard all day drinking beer and boiling p-nuts. His wife comes home and starts raising cane cause he's drunk again. So he throws a boiled p-nut at her. She goes inside and calls the law. They show up and arrest him for criminal domestic violence. Thank god it wasn't a dry roasted p-nut, what would that be attempted murder?
Another example of a wrongful conviction. This happened to me. I came home half drunk one night and the 'ol lady got in my face like she was gonna slap me. She's a big girl. Like amazon woman big, tall and strong. Anyway she comes at me and I push her away she comes at me again this time with her fist balled up. When I came to I had a busted nose and the law was there. They took me to jail cause I left a red spot on her shoulder. A red spot y'all. My nose was flat against the side of my face and I'm the one that got the CDV. Cost me about 2k in fines and a year of anger management. I had to spend $300 to get it expunged just so I could keep my hunting rifles. The laws leave a lot to be desired for sure. -

Advice: Don't try and wrestle the breakfast check from Injun if you share a meal with her.....I probably should have called 911 on her for wrestling the check out of my hand....but she was kinda soft and cuddly.....plus I'd been gone from home for well over a week and needed some "coosh time"!Injun Thanks this. -
Domestic Violence is used as a club both ways.
There are more times than a lot of people realize, where a man has been charged with DV and arrested, when she was the instigator and threw the first punch.
I was a PERT (Physciatric Emergency Response Team) volunteer for 8 years. I rode with local police to calls involving mental illness issues.
Person has diagnosis of BiPolar or Schizophrenia or other and is out of control.
I saw many times where the diagnosed person was the perpetrator, but the (male) spouse was arrested because the paperwork was easier or no one was going to believe a 200# man was wailed on by a 130# woman.
The laws are bent in favor of women. And probably need to be. However, the domestic violence club is often waved to bring a man around to give in to the woman's demands.
I have had to testify in court on men's behalf (and women's too) regarding this, and while it's true that we're talking mental illness cases here, I have seen a lot of abuse by the lawyers, just because they can.
And before anyone goes off halfcocked here, I do not condone either a man OR woman hitting each other.zebcohobo Thanks this. -
Injun, otherhalftw and truckerdave1970 Thank this.
