The snake oil salesmen often have a rig set up where they have two rollers out of a bearing running across each other.
The one is driven by a motor and pressure is applied with a torque wrench.
They then show the wear after a set time frame vs the wear after adding the snake oil.
They also have an amp meter on the electric drive showing the lower power draw at equivalent pressure after snake oil additive.
One of the selling points is as a friction inhibitor.
I do know this is BS as there only is a difference once the pressure has exceeded the film strength of the normal oil.
There for a metal on metal condition.
A condition not found in engines except just before they destruct.
This Micro Blue seems to have a different approach.
Is 10 MPG Possible with a Fully Loaded (80K gross) 5 Axle Truck?

Anybody got a solution to get that BioMass crap Flying J/Pilot is selling out of my tanks.....Pure Crap!
Little Stickers on pumps is the only warning you get for the diesel claiming 5% to 30% Biomass added to fuel.....Crap! -
We have had 15~20% biodiesel foisted upon us over the last 2~3 years now....whether we like it or not. I notice several trucks, especially ones which are idle for longer perioods of time, seem to grow an algae inside the diesel tank. Some larger fleets are using additives to cure this problem, but what we have seen in our own trucks is to regularly check the diesel filter at the pick up tube in your diesel tank(s) and also check the primary fuel filter(filter gauze) or glass bowl frequently.
Since the bio diesel came into being here.....several small companies have set up that regularly filter large diesel storage tanks for bigger companies...eg large factories with stanby generators which are rarely used, thus giving the ideal stagnant conditions for algae to grow in the diesel storage tanks. -
Biomass is some real crap too!
Anybody have more to add, please jump in because I am ready to learn more about the Biomass added to Diesel vs Biodiesel????? -
Riverstick: Nice picture...
oh yeah... good post, also... -

That's one kind of sticker. Most of the ones I see are tiny, faded out, partially worn off, or not there at all.

Great thread Dice....I guess you are actually doing what truck manufacturers spend millions doing every year....research and development....thank you for sharing with us...What you say about micro blue makes perfect sense....looking forward to hearing the experiences of others with Micro-bluing their components.
I have a few questions for you though;
(1) What output/horsepower/torque is your 3406E set at,and are they stock factory files flashed on the ecu.
(2) What power increase do you get from the Pittsburgh power box at level one....how does the truck 'feel' to drive with it.
(3) You drive in 12th because I assume it is direct in your transmission....when running light/empty/cruising...do you ever use overdrive in these conditions?
(4) Any updates on the airtabs and wheel deflectors -
My answers to your questions are in RED.
Let me add that over on Kevin Rutherford's Forum we have a Microblue User's Group that has 3 others that have results from changing the wheel bearings to Microblued ones. Link: http://letstruck.com/group/MicroBlueCoatingUsersGroup
1 man just changed them on the tractor drives only and picked up 3/10ths mpg with 2 others changing all the tractor wheel bearings including the steers to pick up 4/10ths mpg which is what I picked up by changing just the wheel bearings to MicroBlue wheel Bearings.
Since this technology is new to the trucking industry that is from years of experience in the racing industry, I was the first to use it and others have now discovered and are verifying my MPG gains also.
There are more that are in the process of changing the wheel bearings now and will have even more results soon.
The rear ends being MicroBlued are on hold right now until my rear ends are pulled out and study by Microblue who has offered to pay for everything. Microblue feels there is more to be gained in this area than the 7/10ths mpg gain my rear ends showed.
I agree with them and the independent shop that rebuilt my rears after Microblue may have built them too tight. That is the reason to pull them for study and research that I think is great for a company like Microblue that wants it right. Microblue believes from the years of experience they have doing racing rear ends that 1 to 1-1/2 mpg gain is more realistic.BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
Any ideas what gain micro bluing the the universal joints & carrier bearings alone would give....both in terms of MPG gains and durability?
