I found other places I'd rather spend my money, love my toys lol.
I smoked for over 30 years and had no trouble at all giving it up.SheepDog Thanks this. -
First of all, if your employer is not drug testing his employees, he will face some pretty severe penalties if/when anything happens.
If you want to smoke pot or use any other controlled substance in your off duty time, this isn't the career for you. Do yourself (and everyone who shares the road with you) a favor and either surrender your CDL, or quit using drugs.AfterShock and Cascadiagirl Thank this. -
Just ask yourself if a Friday/Saturday night high is worth losing your license and or jail time depending on how bad you slip up or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If the driver IS cited, but there are no injuries immediately treated away from the scene, and everybody drives their vehicles away under their own power, then no drug test is required.
However, if ANY vehicles are towed, or if ANYONE goes for an ambulance ride (or even drives themselves straight to the ER for immediate medical treatment)...AND the CMV driver received a citation...then drug testing is required.Last edited: Aug 28, 2011

I have to say that I give supertrucker credit for coming on here and posting his concern. he obviously has been in a comfortable posistion in his driving career that warrented no worries but, something has changed and he was concerned. I believe there are a lot of Marry Jane smokers out there, that may think or have thought about getting into a truck and have just never had to educate themselves concerning the drug,,and as a former smoker myself,,probably didn't care to educate themselves, until something changed that. I also want to thank those that responded to his post, I feel that all those that replied, did so professionally. Thanks
