    Well I was suckered into CR England's promo last year during the xmas holiday season.... They said I would pay 2k instead of the standard 3k for my schooling, they preached about how we were going to make 50.00 a day after school during our wait time on a driver, graduation week that changed to 36.00 a day.

    Now, I will say their training and the school room training was superb it's amazing what they teach you in a 14day period.

    The facility was okay, I expected better for such a "premiere" company, I'm glad I was at SLC instead of Burns Harbor from what I was told about there, their c-store is very overpriced, I was held back a week waiting on my BC and made money doing walmart runs for students.

    Aside from that, my time on the campus was good.

    I went out on the road, had 1 trainer, waited for my fiance to tell me my hardcopy was waiting at the house for me, and it never showed. After the first 2 weeks I called DMV and was told that it had been sent, but as I said it never showed up, the DMV a week later said it was returned non-deliverable. So I said okay, had it sent to my parents house. Returned again. The DMV did not inform me that they couldn't re-mail it a 3rd time and I had to pick it up locally. Okay, that's cool just make a trip back to home terminal, and pick it up right?

    Nope.

    I was a week out from expire, called the DM and the TC, and the response I got was they will get me there ASAP. Day of expire, I was told over qualcom that I could no longer drive, I had to report back to terminal, and talk to the TC. As I arrived back at the facility 4 days later after being re-routed with another truck. I talked to the TC, and was offered a ticket home, or to re-take the school to get my CDL again. Since I was expired, they couldn't do anything about it. So I said I would do the refresher course if that was okay. They said I would have to come up with the school fee's again, and Eagle Loan's said I would have to take out another loan to go through it again. I told them give me the ticket home...

    That was during November of 2010 to Feb of 2011.

    Now that I've had time to think about it again, this time I want advice, I have heard about various companies out there, like PRIME does load sharing, Swift is still pushing drivers as quick as they get them, etc...

    I would like to hear about personal experience's and make an informed decision. I have the next couple months to mull this about in my head, and figure out what I want to do, since the schools all offer incentives during holiday season's. Oh, and please note if you know if Eagle Loan's is the financial backer, because they seemed to have forgotten the paper I signed and want the full 3k from me.

    Thanks ahead of time.

    Maybe he had a "learner's permit"?

    Because the license wasn't delivered from the DMV, the license was declared invalid at some point.

    A license in transit was ok, but invalid is not.

    It means that despite the tests being taken and training that was done, the OP has no CDL and must retake the training according to the company and the school.

    That is how I read it.

    Does Utah issue hard copy permit's?

    And from everything I have seen on here you must pass CDL testing prior to going with a trainer.

    Yeah I can see not letting him drive with out proof of valid license (look at their CSA score) but once you have passed the tests and they have issued you a license (yeah I know some states give you a paper and mail you the license) it's usually good for two to four years isn't it?

    NOTE: Effective January 1, 2010, the Driver License Division will be issuing a Limited-Term Driver License, Limited-Term Commercial Driver License and Limited-Term Identification Card. Please click here for a printable brochure for more information on what will be required to obtain your Limited-Term document.

    A person who would need to obtain a Limited-Term Driver License or Identification Card would be:

    • Individuals who are not U.S. citizens, but who are in the U.S. legally. The expiration date would be the date of your legal presence document or five years, whichever is sooner. Or one year if there is no expiration date.
    • Individuals applying for a Commercial Limited-Term Driver License are required to have a Social Security Number and DOT Medical Card and provide proof.
    • Refugee or Approved Asylee - click here for more information
    Requirements to obtain a Limited-Term Document are:

    • Evidence of a driving privilege issued in another state or country or evidence of completion of a course in driver training;
    • 2 proofs of Utah residency;
    • Evidence of social security number or proof of ineligibility to obtain social security;
    • Evidence of Identity;
    • Proof of legal/lawful presence;
    • Completion of required written knowledge/skills tests

    According to this he would have had one for at a minimum one year?

    Sounds like a good racket for the school, however they said pick it up at DMV?

    Just thinking there might be a little more to this.

    I passed the written tests, I passed the road test, the DMV issues you a learners permit once you pass the written test, that is good for 60 days, if you pass the road test, the DMV mails out your hard-copy to you if you are not a technical Utah resident. While at the school, they issue you a letter of residency that you take to the DMV before your written test. What is supposed to happen, is once your license arrives in the mail, you take it to the DMV at your home of record and get it switched. DMV or the Post Office dropped the ball on it, and I never received my license. With England, I've done my 30days as a phase 1 student, with recorded 15k+ personal miles and 30k+ truck miles.

    @25(2)+2 You would be correct.

    So it still stands, what about the other companies? I realize everyone of them are going to have bad reports etc, but I generally wonder when someone is bad mouthing a company, is it because they screwed up and they are mad? I thought England was decent, just the circumstances with them made me very unhappy.

    So what good/bad can you tell me about companies out there that would tell me "Hey I should go drive for them?"

    If your a "Non Resident" once you pass your CDL exam you go back to the DMV, there they issue you a 60 day licence & at that point you can use that paper copy to take back to your home state to get a permenant licence in that state.
    You do not need the hardcopy to obtain a new licence in your home state..

    However it seems the OP never got back to his home state to change the licence over & it expired.
    This means that technically the whole licence was invalid, did your home state make you retake you car licence again?

    Something is not ringing true here, I know that I have students & after 30 days on a phsae 1 truck they are reminded they need to be routed home, your the first that I know of that this never happened to apart from a guy who could not prove his residencey at his home state when he went to get a licence there.
