your DM must have a lot of pull if you can be hired solely on the word of a lower management peon. Fact: your DM's word is only taken as a suggestion. 95% of drivers who quit, even on good terms, will not be hired back. You need more than one friend in the office to make that happen.

    2.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do admit publicly when I'm wrong. I also admit publicly when I don't know something, rather than try to sound intelligent by passing on misinformation.

    3.
It's pompous, arrogant statements like this that cause me to not only discount nearly everything you say, but to despise you as well. I backed way off you until you started your misinformation and libel campaign up again. You detest being shown to be wrong about something, but rather than face facts, you attack with insults like this or try to detract from the subject with idiotic questions about my Zodiac sign.

    4.
Maybe it's because you complain so much people are numb to it. I have yet to see anything positive come from you about the company that gave you a new start. Rather than b**** all the time, how about a solution or two? Instead, you quit the company. But you haven't quit complaining about it or trying to paint everything Swift does as evil. Isn't it time to move on yet?

    5.
I hear this an awful lot, but still have yet to see any bookkeeping from either Swift or the guv'mint that supports it. As far as I'm concerned, it's just more tinfoil hat rumor-mongering. I've been asking for a year for proof of this assertion. In return, I get insults.

    6.
80% of all new drivers, not just those who start with Swift, wash out within the first year, for a miriad of reasons. Usually, it's because they simply can't handle it. Often, it's because they can't keep from running into things, can't keep schedules or whatever cause they were fired for. Swift is a training company. The bulk of the drivers are new and will follow the same patterns as new people industry wide.

    7.
    No. You don't deserve one.

The VP of OPs at my present company was a big wheel at another tanker out fit. He told me they considered doint he same thing as the BFI OTR companies do. His quote, "get a $65K driver for $35K." They passed on the idea.

What is the truth to the trailer loads of APU's in Phoenix that Swift got a grant for? The one that didn't get installed because "nobody is trained to work on them."

So now you don't think I could get rehired? Funny my DM was there when it was still MS Carriers.

    Pot, meet kettle!

I am not going to stoop to personal attacks like you do when anyone disagrees.

My grille is warming up and I need to scratch my dog's heads and pack a lunch for work.

    Toodles.......

Okay, you've shown me the error of my thinking. There's the proof right there....some guy who never worked for Swift said it, so it's gotta be true. :biggrin_25526:

Yep former big wheel a Tidewater Transport, now VP of OPs at Eagle Trans. You know it all sweetie. He's got nothing on "Momma Swift."

That is why new recruits hired at Swift are given a statement that that they had to go into trucking due to the economy. I signed one. They use that as proof to get the gov'mint cheese. That is one reason why the BFI companies are such revolving doors.

Keep that corporate welfare coming! :biggrin_2559:

Calling me "sweetie" when you mean the complete opposite is just as offensive as calling me a c*** and shows your sexist, arrogant and ignorant attitude clear and bright. Everybody here knows you can't back your statements with links or actual facts, even you. When anyone calls you on your BS, you resort to patronizing insults.

The only reason you continue to make lame attacks on Swift is it irritates the living crap out of you that a woman is succeeding at a place you FAILED. If you hadn't FAILED, you would still be there.

It's pure jealousy on your part that so many are doing so well...and are happy. Misery loves company. You are a miserable person and trying to drag anyone down with you who will go for the ride. I suggest antidepressants and a good psychiatrist.

You're going on my ignore list. I have no further use for you.

    Ciao.

How did I fail at Swift? I never was a L/O. I was a company driver. No service failures, no preventables. Swift was a means to an end.

Local companies want recent experience. Usually 1-2 years. I did 15 months at Swift and landed a 5 day a week local job. It pays much better, and I am home every day. I had to "pay my dues." I did that willingly. If I would have wanted to stay OTR I would have left at 6 months for greener pastures. Instead I stuck it out to show I wouldn't just jump ship. I flashed my Aviation Fuels Port Everglades picture I.D from 1984. to the terminal manager to prove my tank experience.

Once again you are making up stories about me.

I do apologize for my "Sweete" moniker. I will go back and edit. You pushed my hot button.

Why not be big and clean up your slanderous, baseless lies?

This is the reason I walked out: Wife and I signed up with Swift. Our reason: (Female trainers are hard to find. If the female trainer didn't work out, I was told I could train my wife.) I went OTR with a O/O to prove I still had it while wife waited on trainer.

My wife's first trainer, a black woman introduce herself by asking my wife (who is white) "I was told, you ain't trifling around black folks cause the Driver Service told me U banging a black dude" (I'm interracial) My wife sucked it up and did not ask: What does this have to do with training me how to Big Truck? This trainer was on a local dedicated run, home every night, & equipped with a single bunk Volvo. The trainer tried to make extra $ hauling extra loads outside of her regular route. This leads up to Wife being forced to sleep in the front seat. After being bullied three day about not being able to drive without sleep, food, or showers wife was dropped off at Atlanta terminal. Her trainer told her "Swift run short female trainers, I never get Fired." I called driver service manager in hope of finding common ground. I used to be a manager, sometime people don't get along. Our DSM never denied anything that happened to my wife. She even said: You know, this is trucking. People don't always get sleep, food, or showers when needed" IN THREE DAYS?!?!?! Wife http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tru...s/38822-pixel/ sent a letter to safety. I was given ok to train my wife by Ray Cruz. By the time I finished Mentor Class Our DSM who took my wife's letter as a personal attack called to inform me: "Due to what your wife did I will see to it that your wife never sets foot in a Swift truck again; as a trainee or a rider." :biggrin_25513:

The reason Swift gets mixed reviews by drivers and posters has to do with how the company is set up. Swift is not like KFC where original recipe is the same in KFCs all over the world. Each Terminal is only as good as the manager running it. In Phoenix no one wanted to hear my story. Kansas was helpful: "the people who work your terminal are a joke" Sparks worked hard to get me a truck and set me up for mentor's class in Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City Said: "The Trainer and DSM should be fired". Others told me "That just the way it is, in Swift" The good people who work for Swift are not enough to make up for the bad people in management.
This is how you get crap like this:biggrin_25510:

I Use this forum for Info. I got support from some people & found others rude. Wife stop posting on this forum because she found: "The Rude" Some were real drivers, some were Swift Recruiter/Employees posing as drivers.
No trucking company is perfect, I would settle for: {NOT STUPID!} :biggrin_25526:

BTW.........Good Luck With The New Job Rug:biggrin_25514:

Interesting stuff you wrote about Decatur and Swift Blue Screen. It is better to be black out of Decatur. I have heard that from several sources. Including a black driver.

Some trainers are real gems. I remember reading about your wife's misfortune here.

    Thanks!

I am white as they come and when I drove for SWIFT I was out of the Decatur terminal and not once did I experience any type of discrimination. I got talked down to at times, but hey...welcome to trucking.

Also, I quit SWIFT with no notice after not getting the miles I needed to feed my family. I reapplied last year just out of curiosity and was cleared by Operations and Safety to be rehired. The recruiter was ready to set me up with an orientation date. However on my DAC they say I am uneligable for rehire. Hmmm....

All in all, Swift is a decent starter company and I have several friends who still love working there after 3 years. Some are lease operators now and doing great. It is what you make it.
