N14 Cummins no power!?!?

    Hi all. My cummins is a n14 set at 500hp at 1600 rpm. Its got about 4k on fresh motor. This truck is a complete dog. I did re use the turbo but it seems to be working fine. It runs ok if your givin it quarter throttle but once you get into it forget it theres nothing there. Also i noticed if you put it to the floor for any more than 1 or 2 gears when loaded the water temp shoots up to 210 veryyyyyy quickly. Fuel filter is brand new but i noticed when when under full throttle the restriction guage actualy goes down from half throttle While the turbo gauge will run right at 30 to 35 full boost. It will make some noise but not pull any harder. Help!

    Muffler may be restricted (plugged up with soot) if the engine was sick previous to the overhaul.

    Because you are getting 30 to 35 psi boost, I would check overheads, also have you noticed any excessive smoke either black or white smoke.?

    Check to see if your rad and air to air is plugged up.

    your turbo seems to be working fine, my old N14 would put out the same boost that yours is.
